Love the author, but this book has issues

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This book was another one on my list to "read" since I love the author. Sonia has a great speaking voice, and I really enjoy listening to her - it doesn't really seem like she's reading a book, but talking directly to the listener.

This book covers the chakras. There are seven of them. I am on chapter 10 (of 12 chapters), and she hasn't even covered 5-6-7... The reason? There are duplicate chapters on this audio book. She covers the 1st chakra, then it skips to the 3rd chakra, repeats the 3rd chakra, then the 4th chakra, and now we are back to repeating the 4th chakra. I appreciate the information that I have heard thus far, but I would *REALLY* love to get all of the chakras covered.

It seems as if the audio book was put together without a quality check to ensure that it contained all of the chapters. If that was the case, I'd give 5 stars across the board. Like I said, I am a fan of Sonia's, and I really love that I can find her books on Audible. I just really would like to get all of the chapters from this book, in order to get the full message.

Good Info; Lazy Performance

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes but with a caveat. Sonia has provided good information and has a personable way of communicating. Aspects where she cut corners on production make listening a challenge at times.

What did you like best about this story?

Sonia gives good real life examples of the concepts.

What aspect of Sonia Choquette’s performance would you have changed?

Her performance is half narration and half clips of her speaking to a live audience. I like to listen to live lectures from other authors but Sonia's was difficult to listen to. The audio portions that were pulled from live presentations were of poor sound quality (a lot of background noise and echo and faint speech on her part). I understand that it is easy to use material you have already recorded if the material is good but to effectively use this method of presentation you have to have quality audio and she did not. I wanted the information because it is good information but the farther I got into this recording the more my heart would sink to hear that shift in audio quality that indicated a live recording was starting. She would have been better served either using a better recording system at her live lectures or just rerecording the information she covered in them so that her presentation would be even and well presented.
