Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
This book is time well spent however some improvements could be made. It's not a book or story that starts goes on then ends. I use this to go to relax and go to sleep. It would be helpful if the table of contents gave more information than just the chapter number and the duration. Some chapters include a 'wake up' at the end and some do not. I can't really tell because I'm usually asleep which is goal.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Darren Marks, the author, reader, and hypnotherapist is wonderful.
What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Not intended for reading in the usual sense.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
It's like a nightly radio program for me.

I tried Darren Marks's Harmony app on my Fire tablet but the app was not compatible. That was very disappointing. I would have found that more versatile and useful than the selection on Audible.
doesn't mean it isn't any good - just that it didn't mesh with my personality. I've been trying a few of these hypnosis programs and I really am finding that the voice and style of the presenter is of paramount importance.
OK, so I've spent the past year supporting my wonderful wife through the awful chemo treatment when recovering from cancer (she's now fine!), my high pressure job in the city has just gone ballistic, (working until 2am one night, back at my desk at 9am - you get the picture), and then I moved house, and found my 19 year old daughter was pregnant.
Never a dull moment in our house!
In a final desperate attempt to relieve the stress and regularly relax, I bought this and one other audio book - and to my great surprise it really works.
My (healthy) skepticism was around the H word - Hypnosis. So let me reassure you, you're not "going under" if you listen to this audio book.
What you get is a sequence of sessions at different lengths, which are designed to leave you totally relaxed and calm - a state which I found, eventually eases into your entire day.
The sessions start with a calm and deep voice easing you in, and then one or more sequences with two voices, alternately describing the tecnique to relax each individual part of your body, and mind.
At first listen, this was a bit weird, and I kept listening to first one voice, and then the other. I did find though, after several 4am sessions, I just accepted the sequence, and really just chilled out completely.
I initially used this book to help me return to sleep (four hours sleep a night for months), but although it did help this process, I'm pleased to say it had an ever bigger influence in my daily routine.
Of course, I still have "bad days", but I do know I can come back for an occasional relaxation "top-up" which will help the following week.
On the whole, highly recommended.
