Publisher's summary

This dating advice for women gives you the blueprint to the male mind so you can get what you want from a man...and not the other way around.

Guys get away with tons of stuff and you allow them to. This book will strip men of their power and render them helpless until you have gained what you desire through his actions. And then and only then will we "power him up" again.

I'm Gregg, a top dating coach out of Boston. Everyone's story is unique. You are unique. Men are unique. But your situation is not. I have seen it and fixed it a thousand times.

This book is your core resource to understanding how we think and a confidence-builder.

Here's a preview of what you'll learn:

  • The conveyer belt to manhood (the influences of our upbringing)
  • How we love in different ways and how these ways affect you
  • How men determine a keeper
  • The three things men require (they are not what you think)
  • The five mistakes woman always make and don't realize (this chapter alone will change your life)

Any additional comments?

Wow has this book transformed my life from. This will probably sound like a phony review because I am going to say many great things about Gregg Michaelsen and his book, but I am real. I am 42 years old, and I have been through some terrible relationships that apparently failed otherwise I wouldn’t have needed this book. I have been transformed from the insecure, clingy, needy, pushy, overbearing women to the confident, carefree girl. He teaches you how men think and why a woman like I use to be scare men off. He teaches you how to become confident, independent, and desirable to men. While learning all of this I discovered that I am my own source of happiness, not a man. I use to think I needed a man to be happy and fulfilled, not anymore. I am perfectly happy on my own being me. Now I don’t put up with any crap, I know how to be the girl a guy wants in his life, not the woman they run from. I am dating a guy right, and I have done EXACTLY what Gregg said, and it is working out very well. The biggest thing I want to stress is if you follow his advice it will work. It is hard to do but I forced myself to do it, and it worked!! Another fabulous thing about Gregg is that he does respond to your emails. I emailed him a couple times asking him specific questions, and he emailed me back the next day. He does care!
Thanks, Gregg!
Sincerely, Elizabeth

Great insight into the man's mind

Great information. Some of the info was geared to a much younger, naive woman. Overall, it is helpful in empowering yourself to be a better version of you.

Good Reminders, Nothing Revolutionary

The information was well presented in an engaging, enthusiastic tone that was short of being hyper or strident. Filled with generalizations and clichéd stereotypes, but what self-help book can really avoids that? As readers, we are searching for general principles of what generally works, and so generalizations are a necessity of the genre.
Overall, if you are a woman that would enjoy some friendly and helpful dating advice from a male best - friend or a pseudo brother, you will enjoy this book.

Insightful and informing

Normally when I read these types of books I sense that it's more biased towards just pleasing the man. I didn't feel this way w this book. I already have/know most of the stuff talked about but I wasn't aware of it or how to use these things. Super helpful. Loved the book!!

Any additional comments?

I listened to this book twice within a 24 hour period. That is about a 6 hour investment in something that is going to change the way I approach dating and relationships for the rest of my life...I had so many ah-ha moments it was unreal...if you want to better understand yourself when it comes to men and relationships, this book is a must listen to.

just okay

Worth the read because it's got some good points and it's not too long. However, the amount of self-promotion was a big turnoff for me. Almost gave it two stars because of
that.

meh. if you looking for general info. nothing deep

What would have made To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy better?

too much self promotion for other books to buy. just write one big book man. this book is very shallow and says basic things. or is for girls who just woke up to understanding that you need to have a life in order to date a good guy. way too shallow and general. Men are bit more complex then that these days. Or at least i would appreciate deeper analysis. good point on if you're not getting smth out of a man you're dating, its probably because he doesn't want to give it to you. Not because YOU dont have a hobby or interests, but because HE isnt where he wants to be. so i would say Overrated.

Has To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy turned you off from other books in this genre?

a bit it did. but again i've listened to some other books of his, and you will hear smth that is good, but it will take you full book to listen to find it. So i would say listen on speed X2 so u can go through with it faster

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

not really. not enough of depth. "if you physically fit and you just need a bit of help on how to start dating... but if you're not fit, and if you're like most women and especially if you're a bit older, you're probably out of shape... ' this is actually from the book... i mean. seems that this was written for college drop out with low self esteem and zero self appreciation women. which is a OK, but then the book summary should indicate the profile and who is this for

Entertaining and valuable!

Really great book to help me put things into perspective and to remind me to be a high value woman. Not too long, very practical. A lot of the tips are the same as in Steve Harvey’s book, Think Like a Man (provide, protect, profess, the cookie/sex) and Matthew Hussey’s How to Get the Guy (have standards, be high value, be interesting and have your own life). Enough is different too (man mode, act like he would before he does, try one new thing a week to keep things interesting, advice to better oneself and to gain confidence). I like that he gives tips about what to do to maintain an amazing relationship because most books are just how to find the guy.

A ha Moment

If you could sum up To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy in three words, what would they be?

Win the game!

What was one of the most memorable moments of To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy?

It was super memorable when he talked about the power of the p*ssy and knowing when to treat him like a man and when to be like a man. It was a really entertaining and interesting listen.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

While I listened to this book I reflected on a lot of past relationships and where things went wrong. I was able to pinpoint exact moments where I "lost" the guy and ended up single again. It really helped me identify patterns in my behavior that I need to change.
