And because these rules are invisible and we're not taught them in school or by the media or popular culture, most people live their whole lives never understanding how stress actually works. That's why someone can spend their entire life trying to manage stress and still feel stressed out, grumpy and generally unhappy about life. It's not your fault! not helpful

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

actually offering some helpful information

What do you think your next listen will be?

nothing along these lines, I'll go back to historical recordings to help me to relax

How could the performance have been better?

If the reader did not sound so condescending

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disappointment blended with 'you get what you pay for'

Any additional comments?

I felt for the first nine chapters that I was being advertised to. I was offended by the tone of the reader. The performance and the material actually caused me stress. The book was cheap but a waste of my money.

The longest commercial you will ever hear.

This book contains about 98% bragging and advertising of the author's accomplishments and other publidhed works without any actual hard substance. Long, impractical hustle. The closest to practical passage was talk of an "invisible game" of backgammon, and a *really* poor attempt to parallel that to an invisible game of stress. The author bashes mainstream stress management philosophies and approaches, promises chapter after chapter to reveal how to banish stress with no real, methodical way ever described. Just because he uses counting numbers (1, 2 and 3) does not mean the items are worth more than dung. Do not buy or download. Total waste of time.
