Publisher's Summary

The long-awaited follow-up to her groundbreaking best seller, now Dr. Laura focuses on how men and women need to understand and appreciate the uniqueness of masculinity and femininity; what the best ways to relate, caretake, and nurture each other are; and how to bring a marriage back from the brink of disaster. Jumping off her million-copy best seller The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, Dr. Laura asserts that in order to produce and sustain a wonderfully satisfying marriage, spouses must recognize and appreciate the polarity between masculine and feminine. Both husband and wife have power in the relationship, and each needs to realize this in order to ensure personal satisfaction. Using real-life examples from her call-in radio show, and giving real-life solutions, Dr. Laura focuses on the typical mistakes made by men and women in their relationships and shows how marriages can come back from the brink of disaster and divorce.

Don't feel bad

From a guys perspective I felt an overwhelming sense of appreciation for the love of my life after listening to this book.

The main point I took from it is that your spouse is supposed to be the one person you can confide in without hesitation, and you are to love respect them as if they were a direct gift from God himself (as they are!).

Also that happiness has everything to do with your attitude and how you confront any given situation, it's not created by circumstance, or by some 'lucky break'.

I really enjoyed it, especially learning about the opposite sex's "Likes" and "Dislikes" it was illuminating and profoundly changed how I approach my spouse.

If you realize you're doing something that may be hurting your spouse, don't feel bad, just step up to the plate and be the spouse you know they would love. I did, and I love being that man for her.

An Angry Old Woman

This book is all about an angry old woman complaining about society and feminism. It has no beneficial content. This book takes only a negative perspective and does a lot of political and societal bashing. You'll love it if you are against feminism, but it won't help your marriage.
