For a rising generation of young women, the sky is the limit. Women can be anything and have everything. They are outpacing their male peers in higher education and earning the corner office at work. Smart, driven, assertive women are succeeding at just about everything they do - except romance.
Why are so many men afraid to date smart women?
Modern men claim to want smarts, success, and independence in romantic partners. Or so says the data collected by scientists and dating websites. If that's the case, why are so many independent, successful women winning in life, but losing in love? Journalist Jenna Birch has finally named the perplexing reason: "the love gap" - or that confusing rift between who men say they want to date and who they actually commit to. Backed by extensive data, research, in-depth interviews with experts and real-life relationship stories, The Love Gap is the first book to explore the most talked-about dating trend today. The guide also establishes a new framework for navigating modern relationships, and the tricky new gender dynamics that impact them. Women can, and should, have it all without settling.

Changing the Game
Would you consider the audio edition of The Love Gap to be better than the print version?
I loved being able to listen to it and not get too bogged down with details. It is a book with a lot of anecdotes, one's that I believe are easier to hear than to read.
What other book might you compare The Love Gap to and why?
He's Just Not That Into You - but because this was previously the voice in the back of my head when it comes to dating. Now, The Love Gap is the Holy Bible.
What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?
She has a very pleasant voice and makes the whole book feel more relatable.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
So many. I will definitely be more patient when it comes to love. I know that I am an "EG" girl, waiting for her "Real Deal." And I can be happy and present in building my own life and waiting for a guy to be ready, because he eventually will be and I will be. I also learned that I don't need to negotiate who I am with a partner and I do not need to minimize my accomplishments. I am the "End Goal" and it will just take men a little bit longer than women to be ready for the end goal. It really taught me that men and women are different and to appreciate that.

Completely necessary in this day & age!
I can't express fully how important this book is today. It makes sifting through dating experiences much more simple. If you're analytical like me and need something to help you understand why "it's just not working," this is essential!
