Publisher's Summary

Millions of Americans keep bedside books of prayer and meditative reflection collections of daily passages to stimulate spiritual thought and advancement. The Intellectual Devotional is a secular version of the same: a collection of 365 short lessons that will inspire and invigorate the listener every day of the year. Each daily digest of wisdom is drawn from one of seven fields of knowledge: history, literature, philosophy, mathematics and science, religion, fine arts, and music. Impress your friends by explaining Plato's Cave allegory, pepper your cocktail-party conversation with opera terms, and unlock the mystery of how batteries work. Daily listenings range from important passages in literature to the basic principles of physics, from pivotal events in history to analysis of famous works of art. This audiobook's goal is to refresh knowledge we've forgotten, help us to make new discoveries, and exercise modes of thinking that are ordinarily neglected once our school days are behind us. Offering an escape from the daily grind to contemplate higher things, The Intellectual Devotional is a great way to awaken in the morning or to revitalize one's mind before retiring in the evening.

great quick car trip listening - best of audible!

I cannot say enough good things about the Audiobooks in the Intellectual Devotional Series including this one: Revive Your Mind. Mr. Wyman & Ms. Litchfield share the narration duties alternating each lesson. This is not annoying (as i thought it might be) but rather keeps the book from being monotone and tune-out-able. I also must note that I really love both Wyman & Litchfield and seeing their names on other audiobooks influences my buying decision.

Narration dispensed with the Devotional is a collection of 3-7 minute lessons that are designed for listening to at 1 lesson per day with each day having its own theme. I cannot tell you how many times a topic will come up that I thought I knew about and 7 minutes later I'm gobsmacked to find I was either wrong or only knew a micron of the story. I listen to more than one per day but what is great about the way they break it up is this: it makes it the 100% BEST AUDIOBOOK AROUND to listen to whilst running errands! No waiting in your car to find a natural pause point.

WELL WORTH IT! My only complaint - there aren't any new ones! I wish they would come out with more...I've tried other similar series (don't know much about... etc) and they pale in comparison!
