Publisher's summary

Years before she became the celebrated speaker and Unity minister she is today, Edwene Gaines was raising her daughter in abject poverty. Overwhelmed and terrified, she turned toward her faith for reassurance, sustenance, and finally for direction.

What seemed impossible at the time, she did anyway. She gave away 10 percent of every cent that came to her, and when her income tripled in a matter of six months, she knew it was the work of God. She began to follow the three other spiritual laws of prosperity, and today she lives a life of once unimaginable luxury.

Gaines shares with you the secrets for acquiring wealth and living abundantly. She guarantees that following these principles will change your life from one of deprivation and want into one of abundance and freedom:

  • Tithing and giving,
  • Setting clear cut goals,
  • Forgiveness and worthiness, and
  • Finding your divine purpose.

Edwene Gaines is a widely known seminar leader who works with thousands of people each year on personal issues of prosperity, integrity, commitment, forgiveness, and finding purpose for their lives. An ordained Unity minister since 1979, she is the owner-director of the Rock Ridge Retreat Center in Valley Head, Alabama.

Edwene Gaines-- Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity

This is an EXCELLENT recording/reading. Edwene is very funny. Her beliefs are directly related to Bible teachings. Her 10-step program described on HOW TO SET GOALS is in itself worth the 6-hr credit purchase. I listened to Jim Rohn's GOAL SETTING. THAT was NOT HELPFUL. This Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity recording has so many areas that will help anyone wanting to change themselves. Like the ACTUAL STEPS she gives to 'Face Your Fear'. Actions to take to Forgive ourselves and others. How to learn to trust and have faith that YOU ARE WORTH having what your heart desires. She gives MANY, MANY Examples from her life of things that WE ALL FACE, but blame others for OR don't know how to deal with. These examples show us how we need to react/respond when 'bad' things happen or people do things that we THINK are wrong. Or when mates or co-workers don't act the way we expect them to. How to STOP Blaming others for ou 'unhappieness'.
This is an excellent audiobook. VERY helpful for those who ARE READY TO LOOK into themselves to change.

This is the Real Thing

I heard Edwene Gaines speak a few years ago, and was impressed with how funny she is. Her stories are hysterical and to the point, and very moving. Meanwhile, her advice - when practiced - is spot on. Tithing doesn't work unless you do it ... and the other four principles are just as important ... but when I started to apply this material, I found miracles starting to occur. I've listened to this more than once. Very good prosperity book.

The Best Audiobook on Prosperity!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity to be better than the print version?

Yes- I read the print version of this book several years ago and while I enjoyed it very much, hearing it read by the author added another dimension to the text and really brought the teachings to life for me.

What about Edwene Gaines’s performance did you like?

Edwene's narration is really, really fantastic. Her voice is soothing and pleasant and I feel so comfortable listening to her teach the material.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she talks about how she CHOOSES to have faith. It's not something that some people are just born with- it's a conscious choice that we all make each and every day.

Any additional comments?

I have listened to a LOT of audiobooks on spiritual prosperity teachings by authors such as Abraham Hicks, Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Mike Dooley, etc. etc. etc... This recording by Edwene is one that I will return to again and again- it is concise and the information has truly changed my life.

blessings of giving

Tithing is a scary prospect, especially if you feel a lack of abundance in your life. The author is a Unity minister and I learned about her from an podcast I listen to every week. Her personal story is very good, the lessons she teache are excellent and her voice has a southern drawl filled with sincerity.

Eat the frog!!

I love Edwene Gaines and hearing this book on Audible! I've read the book (it's great) then decided to listen to it---sooo fantastic! You can't not believe her and be engaged into practicing what she preaches. Her wonderful Southern drawl and her spirit of conviction make this so worth the listen. ("Eat the frog" is one of her many witty ways to make Spiritual Principles memorable.)

Beware, more new age than Christian

What disappointed you about The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity?

In a nut shell, I tried to finish the book, but I doubt her "Christian theology" as soon as she talked about her tribal "healing experience" by stripe naked in front of some young men, indeed she said felt "ashamed" not because she has to be naked, but that in her age, most of the things are pointing south, so she felt "ashamed" to be naked in front of them. She saw fire coming out from the tribal leaders and sees dragon flying around. You be your own judge if you want to buy this book.

Her theology is extremely weak, and nearly non-existent. Picking up a few verses here and there to support her argument. She is basically telling God what to do, instead of listening to His voice. I really do think she is not a Christian, but seeing Christianity a good market to target. It is really a scam in my opinion. In her sample, she didn't include any of those scary ideas, or else I would not buy this.

She believes God calls her to be rich, she would turn down a ministry because it does not provide monetary wealth. Her idea of God's blessings builds only on material wealth, the extreme opposite of most Christian believe. I don't think God calls all of us to be in poverty, yet I don't believe God asks us to live a lavish life.

Would you ever listen to anything by Edwene Gaines again?

Not again for sure.

How could the performance have been better?

Her theology is weak.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

not really, it's more like a scam.

Any additional comments?

I would not buy this book.

An excellent spiritual soak

The rhythm of Edwene's speaking style allows your brain to seep in all the great things she has to share. Have a pen handy for the fantastic affirmations she relays.
I will listen, study and do the activities repeatedly.
PS-I haven't known anyone to talk to God that way.
