Publisher's Summary

Based on a highly acclaimed public television series, this audiobook takes the listener on a heartwarming and profound journey to find lasting happiness. John Izzo interviewed over 200 people, ages 60 to 106, each of whom was identified by friends and acquaintances as "the one person they knew who had found happiness and meaning". From town barbers to Holocaust survivors, from aboriginal chiefs to CEOs, these people had over 18,000 years of life experience between them. He asked them questions like, "What brought you the greatest joy?" "What do you wish you had learned sooner?" "What ultimately mattered and what didn't?"
Here Izzo shares their stories, funny, moving, and thought-provoking, and the Five Secrets he learned from listening to them. This audiobook will make you laugh, bring you to tears, and inspire you to discover what matters.

Discover the secrets before you live another day

This book is not about dying, it's about living. And it's not just good reading for those of us who are evaluating our lives as we head into our elderly years. I would recommend that every adult of any age read this book once a year when making resolutions for the New Year. It is not preachy. It is full of food for thought and action, a very realistic "bucket list."

Well worth it

I really enjoyed hearing the stories Mr. Izzo chose to share. They were often very moving and on more than one occasion I found myself crying. Sometimes, tears of joy, and sometimes tears of self discovery. I learned a lot about myself after listening to this book. It's a great motivational tool and I look forward to sharing it with friends and family. I even plan on buying the paper copy so i can underline passages for quick reference later. I will definitely be listening to this one again.
