WTF

I got this book for my husband based on the good reviews and wanted to check it out before sending to him. Couldn't make it past the first few chapters. Someone left a review earlier that said "I enjoyed the book until the female voice started in then I literally couldn't take listening anymore" I feel like that sums up the intended audience for this book. **I'm not even an uber feminist but felt increasingly offended listening to this book. It's almost ironic how a book that starts with how to listen to your wife can make it sound so self centered. To all strong powered women out there, who are not just a sidekick to their spouse, this book is NOT for you or your husband.

Actual quotes from the book "men are not good at talking to their wives because they are only good at talking to MEN" and
"I can't tell you how frustrating it is when my wife doesn't do back flips when I report all the wins I have from my job!"

Lord (lots of religious references in this book as well), go rub your wife's feet and then draw her a bubble bath and listen to all the wins she has from her day, dude.

Wow, what a mess

I initially was looking for this for info on marriage in general and just to complete a book but this was a massive waste of time.
It swung between uber beta low testosterone submissive husband, and overly aggressive high maintenance whiny wife. Mix in constant preaching and it really is a mess.
Honestly if I ended up as such a nuetered, passive, beta, submissive, unimpressive husband, I'd rather end it all myself.
Have some F*ing self respect for yourself, if your wife is constantly a self centered, high maintenance, constant pain, do yourself a favor and get a divorce.
A marriage isn't worth your self respect and sense of self.

story is good but female audio killed it

I enjoyed the audio book and made it quite of the way through until the female voice started in. I literally couldn't take listening any more and just stopped the book half way through. fix that part and you got yourself a solid read.

Decent but nothing interesting

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Too much fluff. Boring stuff. The religious references are strange and out of place.

Great!

This is a great guide for men. I wish they would actually listen to it or read it. The female narrator’s reading is annoying at times. But overall a good listen!

A decent amount of information.

The readers do a great job of helping bring the content alive. I wish it felt more about marriage than religious conversion but nonetheless it was a good listen.

Great parts, less than half though

Contains great help, but contains mostly long paets that are not really that helpful. Worth to hear only while doing something else.

Same Bad Logic

While the whole book is not useless, it is the same dribble that is propagated in modern day churchianity and the world. Every mother's day pastors get up and talk about how great mothers are and on Father's day talk about how big pieces of crap fathers are and how if men simply changed they would have happy marriages and happy lives. That is such bull. Woman and society have been seeking to destroy the masculine since the dawn of time. Just look at sitcoms or tv series and see how fathers are portrayed. Women of today's western culture have become massive narcissist who borderline psychopathic tendencies, all while pretending to be sweet and innocent and all while destroying the character of their husbands and children behind closed doors. I know many great and decent men who strive to be everything that they can be for their marriages, but the moment they step in the God designed role of attempting to lead their families, they are immediately met with hostility, contempt, and a barrage of insults upon their character. The audacity of the author to suggest that men are only reading the book because it was given to them by their wives. My wife never tells me to read nor does she even encourage me to better myself. I better myself so that I can be a better person. Don't waste your time. What a waste.
