Would you try another book written by Andy Cope and Andy Whittaker or narrated by Glen McCready?
Absolutely not. It takes a lot to get me writing a review but after wasting hours of my life listening to this audio book I felt obliged to at least warn others, so that they might avoid this painful experience.
Would you ever listen to anything by Andy Cope and Andy Whittaker again?
Not if you paid me.
Would you be willing to try another one of Glen McCready’s performances?
No, his performance added to the awfulness of this audio book. The 'comedy' voice was so grating that I would rather have listened to Glen scraping his nails down a blackboard than hear his voice.
You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The introduction was very good, the book promised so much that I listened for hours, waiting for it to start delivering on the promises that it made at the beginning. But after every chapter I was left wondering "what was the point in that?" After several easily forgettable hours I couldnt take any more. At times I actually said out loud "For pity's sake!!" as they launched into yet another self indulgent but pointless story or long list that just doesnt work in an audio book. The last straw was the "Oh so funny" description of making toast, I just wish that I had bought the audio CD instead of the download so that I could have taken the CD and smashed it to pieces in my annoyance, that would have at least given me some satisfaction.
Any additional comments?
The whole tone of the book was one of a sixth form common room. With a couple of self obsessed students convinced that they are the height of wit, throwing in anecdotes and quotes from their favourite books and movies. I have been bored before by audio books and there is usually something to take away from every book, but this is the first time I have been left snarling in anger because of the false and enticing promises that were made at the outset.

Very trite, repetitive & got so far in and still nothing useful. Regret time spent on it .
