Publisher's summary

ADHD and ADD are two very complex mental problems. Though much is known about these conditions, on the other hand little is known about treatment plans. While most doctors want to throw stimulants to control the person affected, there are other options. Management comes from knowledge along with trial and error. A book on these conditions can help parents understand their child's thought process and bring clarity to a difficult matter.

not what I was looking for

this book is very informative but I was hoping with the title that there would be more situational day-to-day examples of how to support your child with ADHD and ADD

as a parent with a child who has ADHD I was really looking forward to a book that could help me through the tough day-to-day situations that would guide me to be the best way support for my child through the bad days, hard days, Etc

unfortunately I did not find this with this book but I'm not going to stop looking.

I don’t think I would recommend

I was hoping for more tips and suggestions. There was a bit of a suggestion to use hypnosis but other than that I found no use as in concrete help for a child with ADHD

You'd be better off with Wikipedia.

What disappointed you about The ADHD and ADD Guide for Parents?

To be blunt: there's not much of a "guide" here. Much of the book isn't even about ADHD/ADD... a huge chunk is about the benefits of hypnosis therapy - for pain management, anxiety relief, weight loss efforts, etc. The author barely even touches on the supposed topic of the book.

What could Rose McCloud have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

To provide a better book, the author should have actually written about the subject in the title. The information is lacking and so overly basic that a potential reader would be better off reading a couple Wikipedia articles. I'm not sure this author did much more than that.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The reading quality is fine. I have no complaints about that. The problem is that the content is so sorely lacking in usefulness.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment

Any additional comments?

I suggest finding a different book on this topic. Whatever you're looking for, you won't find it here.
