Publisher's summary

Those who have made the decision to homeschool their children have done so out of great love for them and a desire to provide them an excellent education in the context of a warm, enriching home. Yet so many parents (mainly mothers) who have taken up this challenge find the enterprise often full of stress, worry, and anxiety. In this practical, faith-based, and inspirational book, Sarah Mackenzie addresses these questions directly, appealing to her own study of restful learning and her struggle to bring restful learning to her (six) children.

Very Catholicy

As a non-catholic it's not what I expected. So far lots of Catholic prayers and teachings and I'm struggling to get through. As a Protestant Christian I really don't agree with most Catholic core beliefs so it's not quite as relevant. The second part of the book doesn't have nearly as much of this content.

Amazingly Insightful and soul nourishing!

Sarah MacKenzie packed so much truth, beauty, and goodness into this small book that it is brimming with gems of wisdom. If you are a homeschooling mom...Read this book. If you are not a homeschooling mom but want to cultivate learning in your children...Read this book. If you are a teacher at a public or private school...Read this book. I promise you will not regret it; I believe it will benefit you no matter where you are. my only wish/regret is not reading it sooner. Thank you to Sarah MacKenzie, her family and all who aided in bringing this book to fruition. it has blessed me beyond measure and as I am sure it does to all who read it.

This book is a must have for every homeschool mom!

I loved this book!! I am preparing to listen to it again as I paint our study room. This book gave wonderful quotes and references. The advice and examples were easily appliable to daily life. The reader (who is also the author) read it beautifully. It was like she was inside my head as she wrote it and it was like talking to a dear friend as she read it.

Given me strength to press on & furthered my love for Sarah Mackenzie.

This book is amazing. As a new homeschooling mom (in our 5th week of our 2st homeschool year), I have already come to feel slightly overwhelmed with all there is " to do". The fear creeps up from time to time about whether or not I'll screw up our kids. But, I know the Lord has called me to do this great work. I must continue to trust that He will see it through to completion. I must rest in that.

Thank you, Sarah for reminding me to rest- to trust that when I need Him (which is all the time), He will immediately answer my cry. I can rest assured in that.

VERY Christian

The whole book is written from an extremely Christian perspective. Much of it sounds like a prayer from the author to God. She quotes many Bible verses. Sounded a bit like being in a church service or a Bible study group. This might be a plus for some but it might be a turn off for others. Just an FYI… If Christian Bible stories trigger you or aren’t your thing, you will not enjoy this book. Author assumes her readers are very active Bible readers and church goers. Author assumes her readers are theists. Not at all a secular approach.

Amazing

I wish I had this book when I started homeschooling. It has helped me put a lot in perspective. Another homeschooling mom recommended it to me during a very dark hour in our homeschool and it has been a beacon of light. Helping me refocus and understand that Christ, not me, is in charge of our homeschool.
We have adopted the 6 week schedule and I plan to listen to this book every six weeks.
