Narrator Issues

Only got half way through. In part due to narrator issues, in part because it's abridged and profound teachings sound ungenuine in the cliff notes version.

Thich Nhat Hanh's teachings are amazing when he teaches them, only half as useful when someone else does. He has a sense of humor, he's TEACHING that a sense of humor is important, but these narrators they keep hiring totally miss it and deliver things that are clearly jokes (which you recognize if you've actually listened to Thich Nhat Hahn teaching) very seriously as profound bits of wisdom, radically changing the meaning, and making him sound remote and unrelateable. So disappointing. The guy is funny, that's who he is, if he's too busy to read the books himself, I really wish they'd hire actors to do it and make them actually listen to him first. I'd recommended reading everything available he's narrated himself first (there seem to be a few things, start with Peacemaking), then once you know who he is, tackling these badly narrated works with an alertness to pick up on places where the meaning is changed by the poor narration.

Amazing

Very enlightening I have been told repeatedly in my life to let go of what is angering me. This book has given me way to ask/share what is angering me instead of pushing it down then it explodes on a person that isn't even the problem.

Insightful, enlightening, practical

I liked this book because it was well written, conceptually sound, relatable, examples were clearly illustrated and easy-to-use tools provided.
Anyone wanting to explore spiritual dimensions of difficult emotions and how to understand and respond in a better way, this book of insight, enlightenment and practical applications would be beneficial. #Audible1.

Excellent reflection on the power mindfulness

I really enjoyed this short book which reminded and reinforced the ideas of mindfulness, intention and having compassion and reverence for all life. My only criticism is that Hanh directs the lessons towards couples in relationships, such as those who are married, whereas all of these ideas can be applied to the interactions we have everyday with everyone. Ballerini does a great job reading, his voice is expressive and reminded me of the actor F Murray Abraham.

Simple but effective

If you have a lot of anger in your life, or feel that you are better than other people, then you should read this. This is one of those books I just have to re-listen to every now and again. With how short it is, and how amazing the message is, I really think a lot of people should listen to this.
