Publisher's summary

Speak So Your Audience Will Listen is an audiobook for anyone who has to deliver a message, tell a story – or speak to another human being.

Most of us are quite relaxed and confident when we're with our friends and family. We can tell a story or even tell a joke. But put us on a platform and we can feel very different. When we speak to an audience, we often put on a public mask; and use a different voice. Why can't we seem to be ourselves when we give a talk?

In this audiobook, we will look at all aspects of spoken communication, from structure right through to delivery. We will learn how to have a conversation with our audience - to be ourselves - so that we connect with them every time we speak. In seven simple steps, you can learn to be a confident and authentic public speaker. There are specific exercises at the end of every section for you to practice.

Whether you're a CEO presenting to shareholders, a manager motivating your team, an entrepreneur selling a business, a creative pitching an idea, a charity worker asking for donations, or a parent speaking at your daughter's wedding, this audiobook will help you become a confident and authentic public speaker – so that when you speak, your audience will listen.

Perfect narration. Perfect length. Really has a lot of solid gems which anyone in the public speaking space will benefit from. Thanks to being only 4 hours, it's perfect for repeat listens. After listening the first time, I replayed it again immediately. It's a joy to listen to.

Simple, concise, delivered brilliantly.

Concise, meaty, easy to understand; with workable and effective exercises.

Plus, there's a book!!! I didn't need to take notes (although I did on some occasions); I ordered the book.

Thank you Robin.

Informative and Insightful

If you could sum up Speak: So Your Audience Will Listen in three words, what would they be?

Will listen again!

What does Robin Kermode bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Author/narrators are not usually my favourite choice, but Robin Kermode does a lovely job. He has a pleasant voice and does not digress into self congratulatory ramblings.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

The explanation for our physiological reactions to stage fright is brilliant. The author then goes on to provide very concrete ways to deal with this phenomenon.

Any additional comments?

In brushing up on technique to teach public speaking to my 4-H club I picked up this audio book. It was well worth my time and money. Very practical information with examples that are real and make sense.
