Publisher's Summary

Mindfulness is not about complicated and otherworldly woo-woo spiritual practices. It doesn't require you to be a part of any religion or a movement. What mindfulness is about is living a good life (that's quite practical, right?), and this book is all about deepening your awareness, getting to know yourself, and developing attitudes and mental habits that will make you not only a successful and effective person in life, but a happy and wise one as well.
If you have ever wondered what the mysterious words mindfulness means and why would anyone bother, you have just found your (detailed) answer! This book will provide you with actionable steps and valuable information, all in plain English, so all of your doubts will be soon gone. In my experience, nothing has proven as simple and yet effective and powerful as the daily practice of mindfulness. It has helped me become more decisive, disciplined, focused, calm, and just a happier person. I can come as far as to say that mindfulness has transformed me into a success. Now, it's your turn. There's nothing to lose, and so much to win! The payoff is nothing less than transforming your life into its true potential.

Hearty Serving

First I should state that I was given a free credit to this book in exchange of my honest review. The "free" part does not influence my taste, especially when I truly find the material to be interesting and the narrator, Randy Streu, to be engaging. I selected this title out of a personal pursuit to find more balance in my life. Like many others, I wear many hats and can easily be derailed when thongs don't go as planned. I wanted to learn how to be more accepting and not allow the inconveniences of life, or the problems that occur, to throw me off my path of having a successful career, and great relationships with family and keeping my faith strong. With these desires in the background of my mind, I listened intently to the audiobook. The narrator's vocal delivery immediately set me at ease by capturing the drive, energy, and humor of the author's words. I was able to focus on the message and not get distracted by the delivery. Although the book could be heard in one sitting as it is not very long, it is best to listen in chunks, so you can take time to process the advice, insight, and suggestions he offers. I was particularly grateful for how he made meditation a very doable activity. I was never drawn to it, but after hearing his explanation, benefits and suggestions on how to do it, I'm going to begin adding that to my daily To Be list which has grown shorter than the To Do list, and needs a major make over. He also covers a section on handling adversity, which is a great tool to have in todays complex and challenging world.
