I really enjoyed this introduction. The beginning is background on mindfulness and the rest is a step by step how to meditate and focus on being present in the moment. As a beginner I found it helpful and a great reminder to slow down and focus. The narrator does a nice job as well. I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A Variety of Meditation Practices
Where does Meditation for Beginners rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The audiobook begins with an intro to meditation: the history, benefits, etc. After that, there are a large variety of meditation practices/suggestions offered. I agree with another reviewer that the information contained in this audiobook, while useful, is more geared toward intermediate meditators. Novices generally have more success with guided meditations, in which the narrator talks the listener through the meditation from beginning to end (rather than giving a summary of the meditation, and then leaving it up to the meditator to set up the meditation for himself, later). This book does not offer beginning-to-end guided meditations-just the summarized meditations. However, like the other reviewer, I feel that this audiobook would be an excellent resource once you've gotten the hang of the basics of meditation, which is why I rated it as highly as I did.
I wasn't thrilled by the narrator's voice, but his voice wasn't awful, either.
