Publisher's summary

Moms have hundreds of parenting advice books willing to tackle the more cringe-inducing questions of parenthood. But what about books for the other half of the equation: the dads? Man vs. Child is a funny, fresh take on the parenting guide, written from the dad's perspective. Author and popular Upright Citizens Brigade performer Doug Moe knows first-time fathers are as worried about being terrible at their new terrifying jobs as new moms are. But while most modern fathering guides center on men's oafish parental failings, Man vs. Child forgoes condescension in favor of fresh and irreverent wit. This guide for first-time dads tackles funny but important questions, like how to be a good dad without becoming a BabyBjörn-wearing tool in the process or what to do if your child loves your iPad more than they love you. From caring for a newborn to dealing with a kid on the verge of adolescence, author Doug Moe breaks fatherhood down into survival lessons like "Time to Decide About God" and quizzes that ask dads to reflect on hilarious parenting questions like "Is My Child Too Annoying for This Restaurant?"

Slow, more attempted jokes than advice..

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Im not really sure.. Someone who is expecting joke heavy with light "guidance" on child rearing.

What was most disappointing about Doug Moe’s story?

The humor felt forced and trite.

What didn’t you like about Doug Moe’s performance?

The performance wasnt terrible, but wasnt very good either.

What character would you cut from Man vs. Child?

Honestly I only got about an hour in and gave up.

Any additional comments?

I was looking for a guidebook, with some funny stories along the way.. This book (at least the first hour) felt inverted.. Mostly jokes (some OK, most not) with some guidance on kids.

Save your time. Buy a different book!

Every book I have purchased on audible has been excellent. I feel bad for my only review being negative. I am trying to save you hours of listening. This book (in my opinion) is awful. The author spends most of the book going through lists and thoughts, trying to be funny and coming up short. It is like listening to the scattered brain Dad’s, that only want to talk about their new child. Totally unnecessary inputs of political views and agendas. Not sure how this is one of the top books in audible. Save your money and time
find a different book to read.

Loved It

It was a gift for my brother in law but I ended up listening to it as well and it had me laughing through it all. Everything he said was all facts.
