straightforward auggestions

I read tons of self-help books. I have read many in this genre of how to write, write faster, continue onward and so forth.

This book is a keeper because it gives practical straightforward advice and illustrations. The bottom line is you have to make a decision to write and find the time by manipulating your day. Like all books it tells you to track your writing and make goals. The author makes it clear that it is up to you and if you want to succeed you will take the time even if it is 5 minutes a day.

I enjoyed the narrator and the subject matter very much. It is an encouraging book but at the same time it is one where it is on me and not on anyone else. I have done most of the exercises and plan to continue to implement what I've learned and I may be reading the rest of his series. I think I like it the most because it is an engaging style to listen to and to read. If you want simple as in easy to comprehend and implement this is a book for you but at the same time it is not simplistic.

if you're uncertain, I think you should get a sample of the book if you can ( ebook) or whatever and see if it is something along the lines that you need. I found that it is going to work very nicely for me.

Not for just writers! Methods for success!

This is an amazing book. It tells the story of the author and how he became what he is today. The process of becoming what you want takes more then reading about about how to write. I'm this book he breaks down how to become a writer by changing your habits by creating habits. He gives you tools and resources for becoming the person you want to be. Awesome work Chris!

Great tool for refining your writing habit

Where does Lifelong Writing Habit: The Secret to Writing Every Day rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a great book to listen to on your computer so that you can quickly access something to record your ideas and your tasks. I found myself hyped to put into practice some of Chris' exercises right away and have on most exercises. Reviewing and implementing some of the larger items over the course of the week, but focusing on the core writing habit.

What did you like best about this story?

I love that Chris covers the area of mental clutter and how it can have a negative impact on your overall productivity. I'm going through a massive cleanse right now, decluttering my workspace and dumping all of my to-do items into my preferred task management system 'Trello'. I've also refined my existing word count tracking from calculating how many words i need to write for a deadline, to just tracking and aiming to do better. My previous method caused a lot of mental paralysis that resulted in my just ignoring it just to get on with my writing.

Have you listened to any of Ryan Kennard Burke’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've not listened to anything from Ryan Kennard Burke before, so I have no basis for comparison.

What did you learn from Lifelong Writing Habit: The Secret to Writing Every Day that you would use in your daily life?

I haven't learned anything new per-say. I found it interesting to see how he implemented some of his own tactics to reprogram his habits, and I'm willing to try them for myself to see if it can yield to improvement in my own failing habits. Procrastinating by doing mutually important tasks is still procrastinating... *lowers head in shame*

Any additional comments?

On his chapter about continuous learning and listening to podcasts: absolutely! A hungry mind is a creative mind. Don't limit yourself to just writing podcasts (though they do serve as good creative mojo), listen to all sorts of podcasts that suit your interests, the themes of your latest creative work and more. Don't limit yourself!
I'm of two minds of the naysayer chapter, but I felt that he articulated the difference between 'you can't do it' and 'your finger painting is crap' rather nicely. It could have used repeating as I come across many authors who feel that anything said that may not connect with their reader/market is the equivalent of naysaying.

Amazing! Tells the TRUTH!

I think the book is phenomenal. Even if you don't want to become a writer, you should invest the time and money. The author provides useful applicable information that can cover just about any facet of life when you're trying to make positive changes that will be beneficial in the long term. I'm on a journey to become the best me and a better writer, so I'm looking forward to re-listening to this book as well as doing the exercises. I think the narrator was great. The voice was not what I imagined but the narration was done really well. I happened upon this book and it was my first audible book. I don't write reviews but I decided to because I just thank God for leading me to it.

Short and Effective

Fox's short book gives clear, concise guidance on becoming a writer. It is a part self-help, part how-to book. In less than two hours, Fox gave far more useful recommendations than Steven King's book "On Writing". I tried to get through King's book, but lost all patience when Steve started blathering about an amateur band that he was in. In regard to writing, Steve's suggestions were to get an English degree and put together disjointed ideas in interesting ways. Gee, thanks Steve. Whereas King indulges in useless autobiographical drivel, Fox gives worthwhile advice in less than two hours. This one is a keeper.

good read. (listen)

This book is very inspiring. Although I had decided to change my life style, habits and to remove the negative people from my life before reading this book. I definitely felt proud of myself, knowing I have made the right choice. it's motivating to hear i too can achieve my life goals from someone who has survived the struggle I now face.

A practical live-able do-able manifest

I love this book, it is the catalyst for change that I have been waiting for. I plan to listen to all of Chris's book, (in order to follow his non-fiction literary footsteps).

Thank you Chris Fox for writing this book so well and to Ryan Kennard Burke for narrating this book so well.
