Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author T.D. Jakes uses inspiration from the Lord’s Prayer to reveal how the act of forgiving - and learning to be forgiven - can lead you to a more joyful, peaceful, and purposeful life.

Forgive and forget. It should be easy to do - so why don’t we do it? The father who wasn’t always there for us. The mother who punished us. The spouse who betrayed us. The children who will leave us behind. Whoever and whatever the source of hurt, there is always a path to forgiveness. But too often, instead of forgiving, too many of us live with resentments and grudges that keep us stuck, robbing us of joy, peace, and purpose.

In Let It Go, best-selling author and pastor to a flock of millions T.D. Jakes shares the wisdom and guidance necessary to release a lifetime of hurt and anger and move on with the joyful business of living.

Revealing the essential secrets to leading an emotionally vital and spiritually healthy life, Jakes gently teaches the art of forgiveness as a daily practice. In order to practice forgiveness, he explains, we must first learn new styles of conflict resolution and new forms of anger management. To that end, he shows you how to recognize offenses when they come, establish boundaries, encourage purity of heart, develop trust, recover from hurts faster, and forgive ourselves for the rest of our lives. As unconditionally loved children of God, he attests, we are all forgiven. Through grace, we can forgive ourselves and the people around us. In this way, says Jakes, we can live a happier and more fulfilled life.

Awesome!

If you could sum up Let It Go in three words, what would they be?

A Must Read

What was one of the most memorable moments of Let It Go?

When Bishop Jakes said, "Unforgiveness is like you drinking poision and waiting for the other person to die." That is deep!

What did you learn from Let It Go that you would use in your daily life?

I have learned that no matter how bad the pain is, you have to forgive and let it go so that God can forgive you for your sins and grant you the desires of your heart.

Any additional comments?

I would like to thank Bishop Jakes so much for this book. After listening to this I realized that it really does not matter what happened in the past and I need to be thankful that I was allowed to get through it. Now that I have gotten through it. I have let it go and God has already rewarded me for it. Thank you again!

Forgiveness Should Become Second Nature

If you could sum up Let It Go in three words, what would they be?

Forgive and Forget

What was one of the most memorable moments of Let It Go?

I like how Bishop Jakes talks about the importance of not being jealous of someone's else's journey and how God has a plan for each one of our lives. The audiobook was a good reminder to hear that opportunity comes often, not just once as we are often taught. We should forgive ourselves, the other party and move forward. If we remain open, we will often be granted a second chance to make things better.

What about T. D. Jakes’s performance did you like?

I like how he incorporated examples from friends, personal experiences and the bible to drive home the point of forgiving not only ourselves but others.

What did you learn from Let It Go that you would use in your daily life?

I never stopped to think about how important it is to apply forgiveness to the people we work with. I usually go home and do my best "to forget about it," not realizing that I'm harboring hurt feelings, anger and resentment; which often not only impact how I interact at work but potentially impacts my personal life. This audiobook has provided new insight on how we should also forgive those we work with, not just family, friends and loved ones.

Okay, but I enjoyed it more the first time through

The first time I listened to this audio I wanted to purchase it for of my siblings and close friends. Nevertheless, this time through it was far less appealing. Not sure why, but I'm sure of that statement. It's still worth listening to just no longer a must listen to me. Thanks and B Blessed.

Extraordinary

I am truly grateful for this spirit truth filled masterpiece. I am on my third reading, finding pearl's to dive for as quoted by Bishop Jakes.
Learning to understand forgiveness as the Lord has taught and to "Let it Go" as the author illustrates so well, quoting eternal scriptures with sober thoughts and practical lessons. This book has brought a renewed future of hope and faith to the uneven times of my life and today's challenges. Thank you.
