I nearly passed on buying this book because I feared it would be too mystical or metaphysical. To my immense surprise, it was very well grounded in fact and science. It's true that the author discusses "listening to your body", and meditation, but does so in a very understandable way. Think of it as "getting in touch with your body". If you should be eating better, treating your body better, or tuning-up your body - then you should absolutely get this book. I strongly recommend this book/audiobook. It's good for your health.

In a recent book I listened to by Frederick Dodson, Levels of Energy, he explained that when someone is at a really low point in their life or energy level you don't try to help them with advice that is right for someone who has more energy or gumption.
Invariably, when someone says they have this or that health issue I'll recommend this or that book by some MD or PhD researcher, usually with citations included and a lot of big science-y words.
Now, I realize that when a person is really sick, or tired, or just starting out to figure out how to help themselves get better, they would do better to ease into the world of nutrition and health information and self-education.
This book, with the gentle narration and concise and condensed information that is in positive and plain language is perfect for some people who are just starting. Or, even for someone who has read a lot of books and just wants something optimistic and hopeful and friendly and is a great summary of the main information to remember.
This is both a feel-good book and a get-better book.
