Great content, brutal to get through the narration

Solid content, more detailed than some other books of this kind, particularly in the first aide/medical section. With respect, I personally had a hard time with the narrators voice, it reminds me of Froggy from the Little Rascals, so it was comical at times, almost annoying at others. I did know what I was getting into as I always listen to the sample before buying, but a minute sample vs an entire book taught me a good lesson.

Narration is awful

What disappointed you about Hawke's Green Beret Survival Manual?

The narration makes the experience of listening to this book virtually unbearable. Why did the author not read it himself? The content is good but, the narration is painful.

If you’ve listened to books by Mykel Hawke before, how does this one compare?

What didn’t you like about Vikas Adam’s performance?

His attempt at "laughing" when adding emphasis was truly terrible. He also seemed to be forcing himself to talk in a somewhat gravely tone the entire time. Very awful.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointing considering the author is so well spoken live. He should have read his own book.

Aaagh narrator

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Mike Hawke should have read this - he has a great voice. Why they decided to use this narrator is beyond me - well, try the sample///

Essentially The Best Survival Book Out There.

Just a short review to say this book is one of my favourites, and trust me I've had lots of survival manuals.

Narration is clear and precise in telling how to do or find things.

If you want survival knowledge then I would really recommend this book. I got the paperback edition as well as the electronic version.

pros everything you need to know.

cons electronic version on audible has the chapters mixed up for instance, chapter 5 is chapter 3 but not a problem.
