A wonderful book

I like this book very much for the fact that it explain very clearly the facts about happiness. I agree with many things she says in this book and I learned many new things. I am actually planning to give the paper version of this book for several of my friends as gifts because this book could be a eye opener for those who chase illusions thinking those will make them happy. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to live a meaningful and life being happy because in deep down, all what we seek is happiness and we individuals take different routes to achieve that.

This book delivers!!

This is the best book I have come across in terms of practicality. Throughout the audio she pauses so that you can do the exercise right then in stead of "doing it later". The steps are easy and make a lot of sense. I will be purhcasing this in hardcover as well for my library. If you are looking for ways to create some joy in your life this is the book for you!!

happy Happiness

This is a non-stop listen type of book. It makes you feel good just listening to it. Plus the PDF files she talks about, you can download for free on the book's website. I guarantee you will listen to it more than once.

Great Book

Been going through a really tough time right now. My unhappiness has bled its way into most of the corners of my life: friends, work, family and the love of my life. Everything has been crashing down and this book has really helped to show me what I've been doing. No matter what your challenges are, no matter what you're facing, this book can help you to take control of your emotions! It's definitely worth the read (or listen).

Great Listen plus worksheets/summaries

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Unlike other self-improvement books, this one was clearly read to be supplemented with useful exercises that are provided in adobe. Great. As one of those people that is overly stressed and not often truly happy, this book has already made a difference in my truly blessed life. I am SO thankful !

Unhappy for a Reason Now, ratings must be paid for

What disappointed you about Happy for No Reason?

I am unhappy for a reason now. The ratings here must have been paid for through a 3rd party service or most people are so dense they are unable to think on their own. It is the classic 95-5 rule. 5% of the book are mildly interesting, 95% fluff. Too many references to 'see the pdf'. There is no pdf for an audible book so not reading it out aloud is just plain lazy.I was happier before I listened to a portion of this book. I may not have the credentials to copy a book and make it gender specific but I could write something much better with real life experience. Sorry if harsh - but pass on this one and the reviews are too good to be true.

Everyone must read this

This book is awesome. I loved everything she had to say. I want to go out and buy a copy for every person I know so that I can be surrounded by "happy for no reason" people. She gives you actual things to try with quantifiable results. I just got the book 2 weeks ago and I'm still trying to implement the things she presents into my daily life, and I will continue to do so. It's that good.

All you need to be happy in one place

What did you love best about Happy for No Reason?

Absolutely great book. You can find most of the information included here in a variety of books. For some reason, I'm caught up in reading several of these types of books at the same time. But Marci Shimoff makes sure that you have all of the tools in the same place. I also love that this book points to the scientific backup for happiness. Twenty years ago this would have been consider "woo-woo" stuff. Now the federal government pays for treatments in some of these things because of the documented history. Read it. Just reading this book will rewire your brain for happiness.

Which scene was your favorite?

As a 12 stepper, I love that one of the final stories is about finding happiness in 12 step recovery in AlAnon. If for nothing else, I would highly recommend reading this book. ITs a tale of recovery done right.
