Publisher's summary

I will hold myself to a standard of grace, not perfection.

As a busy wife, new mother, business owner, and designer, Emily Ley came to a point when she suddenly realized she couldn't do it all. She needed to simplify her life, organize her days, and prioritize the priorities. She decided to hold herself to a standard of grace rather than perfection. This mantra led to the creation of her best-selling Simplified Planner®, a favorite among busy women everywhere - from mamas to executives and everywhere in between.

Grace Not Perfection takes this message from a daily planner to an inspirational book that encourages women to simplify and prioritize. Designed with Emily Ley's signature aesthetic, this book gives women tangible ways to simplify their lives to give space to what matters most. With a focus on faith, Emily reminds listeners that God abundantly pours out grace on us - and that surely we can extend grace to ourselves.

Have you been told you can have it all, only to end up exhausted and occasionally out of sorts with the people you love? Are you ready for a new way of seeing your time? Learn to live a little more simply. Hold yourself and those you love to a more life-giving standard in Grace Not Perfection, and allow that grace to seep in to your days, your family, and your heart. Ideas include:

  • List making 101 - tips to create effective to-do lists and get through them one step at a time
  • Simplify your life by simplifying the three major areas: your space, your time, and your mind
  • Strategies to center your day around an intentionally slower rhythm of life

Good book but...

I loved the idea of this book. Once I started listening to it, it seemed like a billboard for the Simplified Planner that the author created and sells. I honestly was tired of feeling like I needed to buy this planner.
I also feel the book is geared more for mothers with younger children.

More religious then planning :-(

Talks a lot about god and not about planning , if I wanted to read about god I could have bought a bible :-(

I laughed, I cried, and I walked away a better person

Emily does a wonderful job of story telling and making you feel like you are listening to a good friend. She is honest and open and you walk away from her book with practical action items to organize your life as well as encouraging words for life's difficult moments. I high recommend this book to anyone who's a momprenuer trying to do it all, you are not alone!

Lots of big ideas from someone who has it pretty easy.

This narrator is beyond annoying.

Good tips and advice, but.... I’d rather hear from someone with actual scheduling challenges. Perhaps a woman who runs a blended family with lots of kids in multiple activities, trading off weekends, and an outside the house full-time job. Charts and whatnot may be helpful, but this book lacks credibility. Did I mention that the narrator is incredibly irritating? Ugh.

For mamas with kids

The story is quite similar to many other books which teach you how to put your life together or declutter etc etc etc

Beautiful words of strength & encouragement to the millennial mom

I purchased the audiobook Thursday while sitting at my desk at work. By the end of the day a few friends gathered for dinner and someone had purchased the book at a local retailer for a great price. I ended up bragging on the book and how good it was to all the women at our dinner meetup. I ended up grabbing the hard copy too and took a few pages of notes from it. I’ll definitely be listening and reading this book several times over. Thank you Emily for great inspiration.
