Publisher's summary

What if the emotions of your past experiences continued to secretly control your life today? What if these residual, inner blockages prevented you from truly connecting with, trusting and working with others? What if your life was a continuous loop of the same story being retold with slightly different characters and settings no matter where you are and which people you choose to have relationships with?

So many of us have been wounded with emotional pain at some point in our lives and are still carrying this emotional stress with us.

It not only affects your emotional strength and intelligence, which influences your ability to make clear, conscientious decisions, but can prevent you from your optimal potential in achieving success, happiness and fulfillment.

To define the new era of leadership in your own lives, it's time challenge your thinking.

Emotional Grit establishes a new model of human leadership within and beyond the workforce - to build a more heart-centered, compassionate environment in companies, communities, schools and families - so that you can master your inner strength and positively impact the world around you.

What causes someone's actual transformation, why is it we hide behind our "masks", and what does that say about your current leadership. To achieve authentic happiness we must first uncover what stories are playing themselves out in our lives.

The process is simple and designed to give you a powerful framework to grow, reveal, innovate and finally transform your life and become the compassionate leader you and the world desperately needs, one with true Emotional Grit.

Would like to rate this higher but...

I believe the content is good and the author’s grasp of her subject is stellar but she shouldn’t have read it herself. I can’t even finish it because of her choppy reading and mispronounced words and stumbles. Too bad as I was really looking forward to learning what she has to teach.

Wonderful

I learned so much about myself! I wish I could have purchased a guidebook in print, I don't have a kindle account. I did a self journal but I felt it would have been more organized if I could have had a paper copy of the guidebook.

Narration is not good

The narration is horrible. I feel bad saying this, but it is true. The concepts are good, if you can get past the uncomfortable pauses, etc.

Disappointed

Difficult to stay with both the premise and the author's narration. Did not complete the read on this one.

exceedingly horrible narration

I'm sure the book has potential as it came highly recommended. the narrator is the author and while she has a lovely voice, she cannot narrate at all.

examples that caused me to return my purchase:
(note these examples are not from the book but just to illustrate how she speaks, and yes I did listen the sample first)
periods are the awkward pauses
caps are high intonations
there were words jumbled together
there were mistakes in her reading

1. quote unquote you're a wizard Harry
2. quote ........... run .............. Forr.....EST run ......... unquote
3. that is a reason why I LOVE........................... it so much
4. FLY YOU ......................fools
5. CALLmynamesebastian say it please
6. quote I'm a pretty donkey [no end to quote]
7. and that was why... that is why .....I ............ that is why I do the thing

good luck ... get the book
