I am the proud “parent” of three dogs: a black lab, a beagle-yellow lab mix, and poodle. I really enjoy having their company and want to learn as much as I can about dog care. Like other titles in the series, this book is a broad overview of dog care and training. Information is broken down into easy to digest sections using straightforward language. (I prefer this to other titles that bog you down with too much information or complicated vocabulary. ) The guide starts by discussing how to choose the right breed, some notes about dog care, and then how to train. Training topics include: bathroom training, walking on a leash, and barking. There’s always something new to learn when it comes to dog training. There are things I’m working on with my black lab and I can use some of the techniques in this book. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
There is very little useful content in this book. Instructions are minimal. Breed recommendations are unfounded. It seems impossible that anyone could train a dog by reading this book.
