Would you consider the audio edition of Diary of an Angry Father to be better than the print version?
Absolutely! You can get a sense of the author's sense of humor, emotion, and at times, utter anger in his read. This narrator definitely has a polished delivery - this guy's a pro.
What other book might you compare Diary of an Angry Father to and why?
If Tucker Max became a dad, this is the book he would write. Similar to a Barry or Bombeck book.
Which character – as performed by Miso N. Grey – was your favorite?
He's the author and narrator, but he does some surprise character voices too. Loved them all!
What insight do you think you’ll apply from Diary of an Angry Father?
I've begun to ask questions I've never thought of - especially why we do what we do as parents, rather than blindly following everyone else. Just because everyone else does something doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Think this insane advice by B. G. Jefferis and J. L. Nichols, in their best-selling book, Searchlights on Health: The Science of Eugenics: "Pregnant mothers should avoid thinking of ugly people, or those marked by any deformity or disease; avoid injury, fright, and disease of any kind." Or even better: Deuteronomy 21:18-21: “If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.” Parenting skills must change as the world changes, and this book is as relevant as it gets.
Any additional comments?
Funny yet thoughtful. Irreverent yet honest. Even if you disagree with Grey, I guarantee you'll enjoy this book. Even if it's just to listen to the narrator's quite pleasant voice!
