Superficial Unhelpful Approach

I listened to Gawain's Guided Imagery recordings a long time ago on cassettes and liked her work. I had high hopes when I saw this recording here on Audible and all the great reviews that went with it. To me, it just wasn't up to my expectations and in parts I found the message judgmental and misinformed.

For example, Gawain must have limited experience both personally and with people she has worked with when it comes to illness and disease. The idea that people make themselves "sick" because they can't rest and "have a break" any other way is both ludicrous and offensive. If you have ever been seriously ill or worked with patients suffering from chronic or life threatening illness they are NOT "resting" when they are bed bound. They are in pain &/or too weak to do anything else. There is nothing suffering people want more than to feel better and get back to activities of living. It is negative and unhelpful to suggest anything else in this recording.

I believe strongly in the mind/body link and the need for healing and positive visualizations and meditation during times of both wellness and illness. It is powerful medicine. I just found that this program completely missed the mark and I can't recommend it--especially if you are currently suffering a health set back. There are better programs out there.

creative visualizations

I keep this one on my Otis at all times. I can be stressed out at work, put on my head phones and explore a calmer, nicer world. I often repeat the the gratitude phrases along with the speaker. I would recommend to most any one who would want to destress their life. I especially like the audio part of this paticular book. You can close your eyes and wander with the speaker. Pretty much I would give it a five star rating

Creative Visualization

The concepts are simple but have helped me change my life forever. Imagine how wonderful you would like for your life to be and it will soon be that way.

The primary thing that limits us is ourselves, not our circumstances. Shakti explains techniques for establishing goals and how to allow them to materialize.

This way of thinking has helped be get a mechanical engieering degree, design equipment, get the most wonderful wife in the world, hit my target yearly income level, and so many other daily things. The techniques are amazingly simple, but even after 10 years, I still see how I limit myself for no good reason. (I read this book originally ~10 years ago). Listening to it again has renewed a creative inspiration, hope for an even better tomorrow.

I pray Shakti is recieving some of the good she has put out to the universe.

A Useful Self Development Tool

I have listened to this title three times and confess that I keep adding to my notes and enjoy it each time. The author has a pleasant and clear voice, even though she lacks an enthusiastic and engaging delivery. She tends to be just a touch monotonous at times and sounds like someone simply reading, rather than perhaps the author herself speaking to you, as you might expect from a title that is read by an author. This is only a very minor issue and may not bother the majority of listeners.

Overall the book contains excellent advice and information and is a useful tool for self development. I can heartily recommend it. The sound quality was very good in the highest quality mode I used to download.

A Beautiful Classic. A Life-Changer.

Would you listen to Creative Visualization again? Why?

Yes, definitely! I first happened upon this book about 35 years ago. This audiobook is a great refresher. Love hearing it in Shakti's own beautiful voice.

Everyone is the world needs a copy of this book or to listen to it. We create our own realities and Shakti teaches us how to create them even easier. This book is easy to listen to and easy to understand. I wouldn't have the same better life without it. Creative visualization is real and the sooner you accept that, the better off you will be. Very Effective!

My wife and I have both been listening to this book and we put it to use this past Sunday. We took our kids to a beach at Lake Tahoe, and when we arrived there was a big sign that said, 'BEACH PARKING LOT FULL', so my wife said (and filmed herself saying) "ok guys, we're gonna say that we will get in and get parking, right?", so I said "ok, yes". So we're in a line of traffic with everyone who are pulling in and making U-turns to leave, visualizing being admitted in, when one of the cars leaving starts rolling down the window as he got near us, reaches his arm out the window, AND HANDS ME A DAILY PARKING TICKET! We were literally 30 seconds away from the entrance gate! We got to the gate, showed the ticket, and continued straight in instead of making the U-turns back out! Of course we went crazy, "OMG OMG!!", and one of our teenage boys said, "that's just called 'luck'", lol! Really?? Two minds visualizing the same thing, then it happens...luck? Out of 50 plus cars, we just happened to get the 'luck' that we asked for. Quite amazing! This is this far the best book we have found in 10 years for teaching practical application of the Law of Attraction, hands down!

Not nearly as good as her first one.

I was very disappointed. Not nearly as guiding and helpful as her 1st one, which I love.
