Publisher's summary

The level of cooperation parents get from their children is usually equal to the level of connection children feel with their parents. Connection Parenting is based on the “Meeting the Needs of Children” seven-week proactive parenting series that Pam Leo has taught for nearly 24 years. The premise is that meeting children’s biological need for emotional connection creates the healthy, strong parent-child bond children need to thrive - and that bond is also the key to effective parenting.

“Empowering, simple, and undeniably true, Connection Parenting will help to change the face of parenting, as we know it,” says Kali Wendorf, editor of Byronchild magazine.

Critic reviews

" Connection Parenting is utterly transformational. If all parents and grandparents read and applied its wisdom, the world would be transformed. Bravo!” (Christiane Northrup, M.D., author of Mother-Daughter Wisdom)
"Many parents will wish Connection Parenting had been around from the beginning of their parenting experience, but this well-written, practical guide makes it clear that we can begin right now.” (Jane Sheppard, Executive Director, Holistic Pediatric Association, editor/publisher, Healthy Child Online)

Great Info

The author's voice is very monotonous and boring, but the book is great. Very useful advice.

Content is 10/10! Voice is monotone.

It was a little confusing because the message was deep and revelatory! Amazing content!! Life changing in fact. The confusing thing was how monotone the voice was. She would be saying how important being playful with our children is while never changing her dry tone. Oh well. I pushed past it and loved the truth and advice given!

Powerful Parenting Ideas

Well thought out and important parenting tools and concepts that have life changing possibilities. Unfortunately the authors voice is dull and droning and makes it difficult to hold ones attention

Read by the author, unfortunately.

1- Whoever told Pam Leo she was a good narrator LIED. This is very hard to listen to.

2- She needs to invest in better recording equipment. I could hear every page turn.

3- The unabridged version is not available as an audiobook (as of Sept 2015) and the abridged version is super abrupt. Chapter 6 is literally one paragraph. Which is made even more awkward by the author's recommendation of listening to only one chapter a day.

4- While I agree with most of the ideas/advice put forth in the book, I've come across all of them before in various parenting books, where they were handled/explained better.

Overall: decent book, terrible recording. You can do better.

Compassionate Approach to discipline

If you could sum up Connection Parenting Audiobook in three words, what would they be?

Well rounded, theoretical, solid.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Connection Parenting Audiobook?

Exercises, and to be kind to oneself-

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Vocal Delivery. It seemed a bit too monotone.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Parenthood and Love

Any additional comments?

I thought this book was very useful. I had to listen with a friend just to get through it. It wasn't a very exciting book. It was great as a group listening and sharing tool. I think the author had a lot of integrity. She really tied in both the parent paradigm and loving disciplinary approach.
