Publisher's summary

This is a very different book: It is written for the dreamers of this world - the people who KNOW that something different is possible - but who have never had the tools before.... This is a Handbook for Generating Infinite Possibilities and Dynamic Change. For you. And the world. Ten years ago, Dr. Dain Heer started as a chiropractor in California, USA. Seemingly successful and happy, Dain Heer was on the verge of suicide when he came across Access Consciousness. With this modality, based on question and choice, Dr. Heer's life began to expand and grow with more ease and speed than even he could have imagined possible. This book is his way of paying it forward.

Being You, Changing the World provides you with a set of PRACTICAL tools and processes which can change everything and give you YOU, as you truly are. It provides you with a totally different perspective of BEING. What if being you isn't about doing something differently or being better? What if it is about BEING the energy you are, in totality? And what if that can change EVERYTHING? Your life, your relationships, your money situation...and the world!

Access Consciousness is a system for opening the doors to anything that is possible in this world. By giving you access to your knowing. By dynamically increasing you awareness. By including everything and judging nothing. Today, Dr. Dain Heer travels all over the world inviting and inspiring people to more consciousness from total allowance, caring, humor, and a phenomenal knowing. His unique points of view on embodiment, Earth, sexuality, and healing transcend most things currently being taught. Being You, Changing the World is his eighth book.

The most different book I've ever read/listened to

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book is one I'll listen to many times. It has changed the way I think, the way I look at the world, the way I deal with other people's drama. Most things just don't bug me anymore. It's about asking questions. Dain doesn't give cookie cutter answers. He asks questions, and shows you how to find what's true for you. What else is possible? How does it get any better than that?

What other book might you compare Being You, Changing the World to and why?

This is the most different book I've ever read. There is nothing like it that I know of.

What about Dain Heer’s performance did you like?

Dain is passionate about what he does and it comes through very clearly. He is easy to listen to and has a lovely sense of humor.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Ask a question, then shut up. What you need to know will flow right to you when you let go of the mind chatter and just be. Be you. What if you, being you, is exactly what the world needs right now? What if your contribution to the planet is being who you truly be, not who anyone else thinks you should be?

Woo Woo Stuff

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This is woo woo stuff similar to "the secret" and had I known that I would not have bought it. It does have some good elements though, it is just really hard to endure the non-science/non-sense use of the concepts "energy", "vibrations" and "electrical charge". I think it could be a good book if it would substantiate its claims instead of simply saying "dont you find -this-concept- to just feel right?".

Have you listened to any of Dain Heer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first Dain Heer book. I must say that the narration is very good and at least as good as many professionally narrated books.

Any additional comments?

The book teaches to not judge others but simply to be aware. So let me just say that I am not judging this book, it is just that I am keenly aware of its weaknesses :)

Annoying Gibberish Cultish Stuff

Would you try another book from Dain Heer and/or Dain Heer?

No

Has Being You, Changing the World turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes, this book requires blind belief that you can change the universe just like The Secret.

Would you be willing to try another one of Dain Heer’s performances?

The narrator keeps repeating some very annoying incantation every few pages that makes the whole thing almost impossible to listen to. I'm not sure if this is designed to program the reader or brainwash us, but I know it distracted me so much that very little of the information would sink in.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Being You, Changing the World?

I'd cut all the new age stuff out.

Wow what a different way of looking at the world!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone, as it is full of life changing tools and process that are easy and simple to understand and use.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Being You, Changing the World?

The most memorable part of the book for me was when Dain said "ask who does this belong to? for every thought or feeling you have for the next 3 days. Ask the thought or feeling to return to sender with a thousand fold of consciousness". After doing this my internal dialogue is quiet?er and more peaceful than i could have imagine it could be.

What does Dain Heer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I found Dain was engaging and had an easy voice to listen too.

What did you learn from Being You, Changing the World that you would use in your daily life?

Who does this belong to? Choose, Ask and live in the question.

Any additional comments?

Not just another self help book but has easy practical tools and processes that are working for me.

Hmmm. Challenging. Outstanding. Overwhelming?

This is one of those rare books that really isn't like any other book out there. And "out there" it is. Dain is a radical thinker. He has an interesting view on life and us as human beings.

I agree with most of his words – and he covers a lot in this book. But... I somehow got disturbed by his story of being molested as a child. Not the incident(s) itself, but rather the way he has ended up coping with it (which I won't spell out here). Basically it's one of acceptance ... Maybe it's just me, but I felt his take on it was absurd. You gotta hear it to know what I mean.

The narration, by Dain himself, is top-notch.

Oh, and then there's the affirmation / mantra he's repeating over and over throughout the book... Kinda disturbing – feels redundant / superfluous – but hey: I can live with it.

All in all worth a listen.
