Publisher's Summary

Beginning to Pray is far more than another "how to" book on prayer. Drawing from real-life analogies and applying them to biblical stories, Anthony Bloom emphasizes the connection between the language of prayer and our need to develop a personal relationship with the living Christ. Whether you're a new believer, a seasoned saint, or somewhere in between, this classic book is a great place to start if you are looking to deepen your prayer life.

Critic Reviews

"[T]his audio is a splendidly narrated presentation of the author's writing on mercy and hope. Moving 'Godward', he says, is not for the fainthearted, proud, or overconfident. It's a humbling experience that takes us to something deeper and richer, but only if we respect the power and abundance that God exercises in our lives on His terms. Compared to God, we possess nothing and are master of nothing. Humbly connecting with His benevolence is the only path to the love we are all meant to have." ( AudioFile)

Teach Me to Pray...

I liked this book because the author gives practical examples of prayer. It was like a grandfather passing wisdom on to his children and grandchildren. He gives me hope that I can start very simply, yet, the prayer will grow as I grow in my relationship with the Lord. Prayer is simple, yet so deep and complex that we can never come to the end of it.

I recommend this for Christians who want to learn prayer as a discipline, for those who struggle with praying, for those who feel that their prayers are hitting brick walls.

The reader was good, but I would almost prefer an older voice to convey better the old wisdom being imparted.

A dear book gives me courage to pick up prayer.

marvellous and precise and clear presentation on the core meaning of prayer, as a relationship with GOD. Warm, yet sober, touches along the way of listening to Metropolitan Anthony.
