A Literary Support Group
“Am I going crazy?” is answered in this book with the quiet affirmation, “No, you are only grieving.”
People assume that because losing our parents is inevitable, we'll be prepared for it. We’re usually not.
Losing your parents suddenly, having it drawn out, or what age you are don’t matter, it’s always painful.
These stories offer comfort in seeing how others deal with loss and suggestions for coping. These can include areas such as how to manage family celebrations in the absence of someone we deeply loved, or more specific issues, such as who will sit in the chair that Dad normally sat in every Thanksgiving.
Ice-T’s story surprised me, I didn’t even realize it was Ice-T until he mentioned Coco. It’s very humble and down to earth. All the stories are.
This book is a literary support group. Most grief and loss books are really clinical—not this one.
