Publisher's summary

Harry Lorayne has been honing and teaching his memory systems for more than 40 years. Ageless Memory is the culmination of his life's work, specially geared to our needs as we age. Completely practical and easy to use, Lorayne's methods can be put into practice immediately - for a better memory the very same day you start to listen!

With this one audiobook, you will learn to remember anything you see, read, or hear the very first time you see, read, or hear it, and retain it for as long as you like. You'll be able to recall names and faces, even years later; never miss an appointment or misplace keys, glasses, or valuables; give speeches without notes; learn English and foreign words and phrases easily; excel at card and other games; memorize long lists of items, huge numbers, quotations, Bible verses, all kinds of facts and figures; and (most important) regain the confidence that comes with having a sharp, active mind.

Ageless Memory includes special "Mind-Power" exercises in each chapter to help keep your mind in tip-top condition, sharpen your creativity, and improve your concentration. And they're fun! Lorayne's down-to-earth style and encouraging step-by-step instructions put super-power memory in reach of everyone - enabling you to learn new languages, go back to school, and beat out the younger competition at work.

Thanks for the magic, Harry.

I learned so much from this book. At almost 54, I have struggled with memory issues for year or so I thought. Turns out I did not have any decent systems to work with. I recommend downloading the kindle too for reference.

Harry is the master

A must listen/read if you are into memory training. My only criticism is the book could have been longer.

My favorite audible book so far

This taught me to be more confidant about memory -- you really can make life easier by learning to remember - names, numbers, routines, etc. I can remember all manner of numbers now, I can recite the BIll of Rights, but it is a skill you have to practice. I plan to read this book again in 6 months and do a phase-two memory plan.

Harry's Techniques Work

I have read several of Harry Lorayne's books on mneumonics. His techniques really work. When coupled with increasingly spaced repetitions over time, information learned using these methods can become true and permanent memory. If you are familiar with his work, this is really more of the same. If not, it's well worth the time. In fact, it was worth it for me just to hear him read his own work. My only complaint is that I wish he would have provided a more extended list of his phonetic alphabet representation of numbers. I believe he went through 20. Through 1,000 would be great - perhaps as an appendix, so those who don't want the extended material could easily skip it. Thanks Harry!

Great book

My 7-year-old son and I have listen to Ageless Memory & How to Improve Your Memory several times and we are having fun using these techniques to improve our memory.

Enjoyed it

My biggest disappointment was the cuss words. He could have left them out and made his points just as effectively. I found the program useful. This is a good introduction on how to memorize names, lists, numbers, the number that each item in a list comes in, speeches, playing cards, etc. For more thorough covering of these and more techniques, I'd recommend Dominic Obrien's "Quantum Memory Power".

The exercises will definitely help anyone improve their memory. I also bought the hard copy of the book so that i could thoroughly learn everything that book has to offer.

Went back for a refresher, it still works!

I highly recommend this book to kids in school and any adults having to learn any text books.

OK, but this is a book for print

This is one of those books that should be bought in print. Preferably paperback because you will want to go back an use it as a reference. The stories a compelling and Harry Lorayne's achievements are astonishing. When you realize that these techniques work better than what you were taught in formal education you will be tempted to make a life change. However, this is not a read it and forget it book, and improving your memory appears to be one of the most important steps you can take in metacognition. I like the book, but I am now looking for the best way to learn to memorize, and at this time it appears Dominic O'Brien may have a superior memory technique. (see World Memory Championships).
