Editorial reviews

Listeners will find it hard to stop smiling - or laughing out loud - as they listen to Amanda Ronconi's good-humored performance of Elizabeth Paulson's tongue-in-cheek guide to finding a great guy. Ronconi uses excellent comedic timing and delivery to share snarky advice such as joining a gun club to find strong, silent types or moving to Alaska to take advantage of the male to female ratio - two single guys for every single girl, for those interested. Listeners who are too cynical for the usual self-help books will particularly enjoy this sardonic take on romantic advice.

Publisher's summary

Witty, snarky, and (deep down) sincere, Elizabeth Paulson offers advice and encouragement for 20- and 30-somethings on their quest to find love - or at least requited lust.

interesting.

i love the narrator so i followed her to this book. i can't decide if it is satire or comedy. it's not a story but it's like a list of every cute meet in a rom com I've ever read. except no paranormals. not a bad way to kill 2 hrs.

Not what I expected but a fun listen.

I thought this was an actual story but 'tis not. Rather it's a quirky list of tactics to get "him". Some make sense (reach back to guys you never noticed in HS or uni), some are insane (get or pretend to be pregnant), and all are examined in such a way that makes me think it is entirely too much trouble to be bothered. Besides, women are the prize. Let the men preen for us, like our two-year-old and four-legged friends.

Elementary

This book is stupid from the get-go. It’s immature and irresponsible and so juvenile. The first piece of advice is to get a cat, or pretend to get a cat, and put it up a tree so you can call the fire department. So many levels of stupid.
