Publisher's summary

It seems to happen overnight. One minute your daughter is wearing bunny slippers and demanding bedtime stories. The next, she's wearing a midriff-baring t-shirt and demanding the car keys.

8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter takes us shriek by shriek through the process of raising teenage girls, including braces (the most expensive metal on earth), the telephone (seemingly wired to her nervous system) and, of course, dating (Rule #2: Keep your hands and eyes off my daughter's body, or I will remove them).

Very funny

John Ritter is the ideal person to read this book - his delivery is hilarious! Having seen various episodes of the programme on TV by the same name, I was interested in listening to the original book and it certainly did not disappoint. I am sure that every parent will see the funny side of life with teenagers when listening to this, but if it is nothing else, it is fair warning to the childless not to enter into the endeavour of having children without due thought and consideration.

The sound quality was very good on the highest quality level I downloaded. I can recommend this as a pleasant and hilarious way to while away an afternoon or entertain you during a journey.

TOO FUNNY and REAL

This book is so true and so very funny. It helps us as parents to laugh, breath and then try to figure out how to deal with our teens!

Comedy, not practical advice

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This book is full of entertaining stories about adolescent daughters. I was looking for parental advice and was consequently disappointed.

Great book

I picked up this book because I heard the show with the same name is based on it. The book is for better. It reads like an encyclopedia entry. This adds to the humor along with the narrator's frustration of his daughters' hygiene and cleanliness habits.

John Ritter may not be the best choice to narrate this but he does well. His performance in the the show based on this book makes it easier to acclimate to his voice regarding the content.

Humorous, even if you don't have teenagers

I first listened to this on audio cassette a lot of years ago. I thought it was funny enough then that I kept the book, intending to listen again one day. Well, I listened via Audible this time, and it's still pretty funny/amusing, although John Ritter gets pretty manic with his reading at times. Still think the 8 Rules are funny and spot on. It's worth a listen--only a couple of hours-plus.

I Listened to this after “Love, Clancy,” and I’m glad I did!

I decided to listen to this book after listening to
“Love, Clancy,” and I’m glad I did. It made me smile.”Love Clancy,” had references to this book to this book, because characters kept saying ‘8 simple rules.’ and what they said was so cute I had to listen to this book.
