Excellent!!!

So much info. Highly recommend the last spiritual chapter too. Even if you’re not a believer, it may answer some questions or enlighten you. It is not presented in an offensive manor in any way. I fully enjoyed this very informative book and will be listening to it several times. Soo much information here!

Excellent

Dr Derose is an easy listen. Since I’ve met and heard him speak in person it was great for him to read his own book. He is both expressive and funny along with being a great story teller.
There is MUCH common sense, which isn’t heard much any more b/c people want the easy ‘give me a pill to fix my problem’.
Although I am not a vegetarian and most likely will not become one, he wasn’t either when he started. BUT there is soooo much other helpful information here and his medical background is so helpful and he speaks simply to help you understand what you need to know to do a lot more than just lower BP.
Diabetes, Sleep and the lack thereof, weight issues, Hypertension-BP and more are all covered in this book. It’s a wealth of information ... this the reason I did audible so to have it to go back to over and over. However, my only complaint is - the book has lots of pictures and charts he refers to and with the audible version you are missing that.

Useful information

Struggled to finish! There were too many references to illustrations, constantly being asked to see figure.... The book was clearly not written for Audible reading.

I like it! 👍🏼

The advises are wonderful.
I'll still eat meat but it helps to know too limit yourself.
sounds like great spiritual advices too but the doctor tries really hard to fit everyone in without offending. I wish he wasn't worried about that but I do recommend this book. especially the last few chapters are awesome!

Too Much "Backstory!"

If you could sum up Thirty Days to Natural Blood Pressure Control in three words, what would they be?

TOO Much Background!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Thirty Days to Natural Blood Pressure Control?

Say What?

What aspect of David DeRose’s performance would you have changed?

I'll have to think about this and get back w/you...o/w listen to the "sample" and see for yourself...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I would have settled for either...

Any additional comments?

I believe this is a worthwhile audiobook/ either mode...I just began to listen and found Way Too Much intro, e.g. What BP is and how dangerous hypertension can be...The helpful stuff doesn't start until about chaper 5 or 6...
So, If you're listening to/reading this book, you Already KNOW that! An intro of nothing more that, "You've been told you have high blood pressure, and here's a way to help get it lower..." That's All...The scary sudden death stories, believe me, we've all heard 'em... BTW, print book is a bit pricey...the publisher should see if a lesser priced, e.g. $9.95 or lower could be offered...and,Not everyone has an "e-reader." Take Care!

I'm an internist, and I learned a lot from this!

I really like that the narrator described the tables. I've never heard that done before.

Overall a good book, but too much religion

Overall the book was great, but I had to skip the last chapter. I get that spirituality is important for a lot of people and the sense of community and peace of mind might help with blood pressure, but (for me), going into religion in a blood pressure book, and going on and on about Jesus isn’t what I was expecting as a way to lower my BP. I felt I was being preached to! No worries though, I just skipped that chapter.

Book says eat vegan. Nope!

After hype stories and you think geez let’s get to it already. The first thing covered is meat is bad. Eat vegan. You lost me there doc. Next.

I’ll be returning this book for another.

Disappointing!

First 5 chapters could have been written by Captain Obvious. Bottom line is, there is no definitive bottom line other than the authors' belief a plant-based diet cures all ills. Sorry docs, but I'm not a ruminant. In fact, my body, elevated blood pressure and all, cannot digest cellulose, i.e. plants. No fruits, no vegetables. I can tolerate saturated fats, animal protein (meat / eggs) and water ONLY. If I were to boil down this book's title to one word, that word would be CLICKBATE!

VERY disappointed in this, my first Audible book.
