Publisher's Summary

This program is read by Alex Hyde-White, William Dufris, Hillary Huber, Nanette Gartrell, Leonard L. Glass, Luba Kessler, Bandy X. Lee, Elizabeth Mika, P. J. Ochlan, Jennifer Contarino Panning, Thomas Singer, Rosemary Sword, Michael J. Tansey, Betty P. Teng, and Steve Wruble.
The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump describes the consensus view held by two dozen psychiatrists and psychologists that Donald Trump is dangerously mentally ill and that he presents a clear and present danger to the nation and our own mental health.
This is not normal.
Since the start of Donald Trump's presidential run, one question has quietly but urgently permeated the observations of concerned citizens: What is wrong with him? Constrained by the American Psychiatric Association's "Goldwater rule", which inhibits mental health professionals from diagnosing public figures they have not personally examined, many of those qualified to answer this question have shied away from discussing the issue at all. The public has thus been left to wonder whether he is mad, bad, or both.
In The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, 27 psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health experts argue that, in Mr. Trump's case, their moral and civic "duty to warn" America supersedes professional neutrality. They then explore Trump's symptoms and potentially relevant diagnoses to find a complex, if also dangerously mad, man.
Philip Zimbardo and Rosemary Sword, for instance, explain Trump's impulsivity in terms of "unbridled and extreme present hedonism." Craig Malkin speaks about pathological narcissism and politics as a lethal mix. Gail Sheehy, on a lack of trust that exceeds paranoia. Lance Dodes, on sociopathy. Robert Jay Lifton, on the "malignant normality" that can set in everyday life if psychiatrists do not speak up.
His madness is catching, too. From the trauma people have experienced under the Trump administration to the cult-like characteristics of his followers, he has created unprecedented mental health consequences across our nation and beyond.
It's not all in our heads. It's in his.
Expertly compiled by author and editor Bandy X. Lee, this insightful audiobook is mental fuel for the concerned, contemplative listener.

Good Information from the pros

Overall, this is a very insightful book. The only thing is some of the narration seemed... flat. I absolutely appreciate the mental health professional involved, as they put their necks and careers on the line to answer the "duty to warn" call. It's also scary to gain insight on how they see the mental health of the president. I recommend this book to anyone who can concerns or questions regarding the Trunk presidency. I hope it encourages you to get involved, whether it's consistently voting, volunteering, donating, etc. We must, on both sides, restore order to our democracy.

Experts discuss the world's biggest problem

This important book consists of stand-alone articles written by 27 mental health professionals. The articles necessarily differ in style and overall quality, but the majority are very informative.

Almost every discussion of psychiatric symptoms is right on target, with abundant examples in each case. If you think our president might suffer from narcissism, sociopathy, bipolar disorder, or cognitive decline, you are right- these authors make an excellent case for a combination of those dangerous conditions.

The most important conclusion of every article is that we are faced with a leader who is unfit to lead, and who could easily drag the world into a nuclear war in the service of his fragile ego. Solving the problem is more difficult than diagnosing it, but one chapter even discusses the application of the 25th amendment.

Bipartisan Propaganda.

Donald Trump is without doubt a genuine threat to humanity. I bought this book in the hope of hearing supportive arguments based on the discipline of applied psychiatry.

Instead I was served up with a series of blunt psychiatric labels (i.e. malignant narcissism) backed up not by science but by Democratic/DNC and deep state hit pieces along with worn out and unproven accusations previously made through mass media.

This is exactly how psychiatry was usurped in Stalinist Russia and therefor proves the desperate need for measures like the Goldwater rule.

A chance has been missed to have a serious and urgent conversation about a very unstable president because the only thing this book lacks are the words "My name is Hillary Clinton and I endorse this publication" on the inside cover.

A chance missed... Meanwhile a madman is still on the lose in the White House.
