Quite a thought provoking journey. The scope & scale is awe-inspiring. Din't enjoy much the focus on happiness. On occasions the conclusions were drawn by forming the opinions in advance. Yet this book surely makes you think

I’ve listened to over 100 books on Audible and this is easily my worst purchase. I should have heeded the other reviews but had heard good things about this book. First the summary is terrible. The narrator has a sing-songy voice that drove me nuts for 90 minutes. The editing is very poor with multiple cut-offs or repeats.
The book itself was a disappointment. Let me summarize- (1) people suck and destroy everything they touch (especially Americans), (2) religion and capitalism are the source of all of our evils, (3) science is good, and (4) we are probably all doomed. Maybe it’s just poor editing but I saw very little empirical evidence to support these claims and very little true insights about the current and future state of humanity. I wanted to like this book and suffered through the awful editing and narration to give it a fair review but if the full text is anything like this summary, save your money and time.
