Intelligent, practical and uplifting.
Incredibly well researched and grand in it's scope. After the first couple of hours I was getting so depressed about the state of the world that I wondered if I could take another nine hours. Fortunately, once he defines the problems he leads you through a fascinating tour of world history, philosophy, art and science. After establishing where humanity took a wrong turn he presents a practical new path for us to take. A road map for everything from climate change, agricultural practices, education and economics is laid out. As he states in the book, if you don't agree with his solutions, come up with better ones because "business as usual" is no longer an option. Contrary to his image in the media, Prince Charles is a true modern day philosopher full of compassion, insight and wisdom. He should be given his place as King of England and we could do worse than to have him as king of the world. Everyone should read this book.

A wonderful book!
This is a wonderful book mainly about the environment, history and the future. It is very clearly and logically laid out (not an easy task with so much information). I consider myself fairly well-informed on the environment etc., but certainly learned a lot. It) is also quite inspirational - I realy think if I had read this while at school I might have taken up science (but only for the right reasons - i.e. to help protect nature..). Of course, the fact it is read by Prince Charles is a great bonus - he has a very pleasant voice and it is a pleasure to hear someone with the perfect pronunciation!!!

Very enjoyable listen
I have and would recommend this book to everyone. It's a pleasure to listen to and can lead to you wanting to do your own further research on subjects you may be interested in.
Its well laid out and easy to understand as well as not being to technical. It looks at different things and does a good job in bringing subjects together and linking them. I have listened to it twice and enjoyed it both times.
Ideal for anyone including students and people with a interest in the environment, culture, travel, history, art literature amongst other things.
