A Glimpse Into the Method Behind the Magic
The title does this well on its own, but if I had to choose three new words then they would have to be eye-opening, funny, and detailed.
In chapter 9 we are hearing the tale Shovel Knight's creation and there is a quote that seems to sum up a lot of the lives of those involved in making a game. "People would ask me how things were going and I would say, 'Everything is getting worse except for Shovel Knight. That is getting better.'"
A fascinating look at the game development process! I do not have any experience in game design, so I can not assess the accuracy of the details in the book, but as a casual gamer it was a great deal of fun to learn about some of the ins and outs that make up some of this decades well known games.
This is a must for anyone.. even for non gamers
