Publisher's summary

Blockchain is one of the most exciting developments since the Internet. It is a completely revolutionary way to secure online data and one that will change things forever. It has turned the way we think about Internet security completely on its head. It not only changes the way we look at online security, but it turns some heads doing it.

It is what made Bitcoin such a success and what is being hailed by giants such as Samsung and IBM as the way to make an Internet of Things a reality.

Imagine a world where cars can be controlled by remote access, where they can actually communicate with one another online to avoid collisions and congestion. Where cars are able to interpret their environments to enable them to drive at optimal speed with optimal safety. Where all electronic devices have their own online profiles and can be activated remotely. Not home in time to record your favorite program? Get online at the office and hit the record button there.

For the first time ever, companies have a way of maintaining a complete support system for online devices and appliances without having to break the bank. Blockchain enables companies to do this by drawing on the computing power of millions of registered users without having to rely on vast computer farms. The user earns rewards and the company is able to roll out support to millions of devices.

And, as if that wasn't enough, the very way that the database is structured makes everything more secure. No one person can hack the information because it is spread out over so many computers.

Great overview of Blockchain!

After listening to this audiobook, I found it to be very informative and straightforward. Pretty much blockchain is a system of recording information in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. Many of the industries are now implementing blockchain solutions to secure their place during these times of hacking being at an all-time high. The author does a good job explaining how promising and revolutionary blockchain is being that it helps reduce risks, protects against fraud, and brings transparency in a scalable way for mass uses. Blockchain also allows Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to operate without the need for a central authority. Although blockchain is very complex and has a lot of ins and outs, the author sums it all up in a way that won’t confuse you or have you completely lost.

The narrator also does a really good job narrating it in a way that allows you to really understand the information being said. This is my first time listening to this narrator and I think he did a great job. It was very clear, and I feel like his voice was very fitting for this particular book. With it being more of an informational book than a traditional storytelling book, I thought the narration was going to be boring and draining, but it was done very well, which made it even more interesting to learn what blockchain is and how it works. I am glad I listened to it as an audiobook compared to a hard copy.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in blockchain and what it is about. With it only being 41 minutes, it isn’t that long, and you will get the full scope of everything it’s about. From listening, I can say that blockchain is really going to change the world for the better and I really hope more people find out about it. This book enhanced my understanding deeply and I hope it does the same for you!

The Perfectly Executed Beginners Guide to Blockchain

While listening to the podcast “The Complete Beginners Guide to BlockChain, Understand BlockChain in a Day”, some very valuable information was given. Blockchain is a technology that allows cryptocurrency to exist. Cryptocurrency uses encryption techniques to take control of the creation of monetary units altogether. It also helps with verifying the transfer of funds.

Discussed within the podcast is the history behind how Blockchain came to be and how beneficial it has been for security as well as many other purposes. Also discussed within the podcast is how Bitcoin shares some connections with Blockchain. Bitcoin, as many have heard of before, is a cryptocurrency which is powered by Blockchain technology. The most common difference found between the two though, is that Bitcoin promotes anonymity in contrast to Blockchain which promotes transparency.

I recommend this podcast to anyone who is struggling with understanding the complex techniques that Blockchain implicates. It is a good listen for those who are unsure how these intricate technologies function.

This topic was well examined throughout the entirety of this podcast episode. It leaves you with great insights on how exactly Blockchain technology works and the way the chapters were split up, made it easy to follow, which is mainly why I gave it the ratings I did. Additionally, the basic benefits companies and people can receive from using this technology is brought to the attention of those listening in.

Conclusively, Blockchain will forever impact the world. Mentioned in the podcast was that, “it could be as impactful as the development of the internet” which is remarkable if you really think about it.

Reveals a lot about the aspects of blockchains

This book is well written and goes over a lot about blockchains and what it is. It gave a lot of good examples about giving each item its own online identity and how the internet of these things become a reality. It talks about how security is a big concern on not wanting others to be able to take control of what's yours. That's where blockchain would come in to resolve these kinds of issues.
Overall, this book gives a lot of examples and although at some parts it's hard to follow along, the other parts I understood and enjoyed listening to.
