Publisher's summary

Ele'ana and her squad of cybernetic soldiers are escorting a long haul space freighter to the outer rim planets. She can't tell the captain what they're carrying, or why saboteurs are trying to stop them. The assignment is challenging enough without a saboteur aboard ship.

The medic is half-blind. Her explosives expert is a sociopath. The interrogator suffers from dementia. Her own sanity is stretched to its limit as her desire for the cantankerous captain wrestles with the reality of her body's modifications.

Hands of Onyx

I received a free copy of this book but that had no influence on my review. This is an interesting book it's not my normal genre to listen to but I got it because of the narriater. It was good for a change. If this is your genre you will love it. I thought Theo Holland does a excellent job narraiting this book. If my review was any help will you please click on the helpful link. Thank you

A who done it- but in space

Initially I was disappointed, I had been hoping for this book to pick up alone the story line of Emerald Tears. This disappointment lasted only seconds. I was immediately drawn to the whole new world and characters that Bender introduced in this story. I'm not sure how she so flawlessly integrates the Sav'ine's story into a whole new... Uh. Everything. This book is filled with everything you could possibly want in a sci-fi book with hints of an old school who done it.
It's hard not to fall in love with the characters.

A taste of Noir in Space!

First, you don't need to have read or listened to Emerald Tears to really enjoy Hands of Onyx. It feels a little bit like those Film Noir from the golden days of Hollywood. A good, solid mystery, with weird but interesting characters, including telepathic twins.

If you enjoy Noir, or Mystery on the Orient Express, you will probably enjoy this book. The performance by Theo Holland is STRONG, as always, with a different voice for each of the characters (and there are many in this small ship).

Good sequel to the first book

I really enjoyed the first book Emerald Tears. I was excited to listen to the sequel. I have to say I was really hoping it would bring back the characters from the first book but this book is a whole different set of Sav'ines. It really to me didn't link to the first book much but if you look at it as a whole story of it's own it is very entertaining. Holland does another great job at creating character voices to bring them all to life. It really makes listening to audio books much more interesting and holds my attention so much better. He does the male and female voices and really takes the stories to a whole new level. I did enjoy this book and loved how Bender wrapped it up at the end. It didn't disappoint.
