Oh man, an abridged reading...

The abridged reading left out a number of scenes and events that helped flush out the story and set the stage for the Wingman universe. oh well, I guess that to be expected since I got the copy for free.

Wingman #1 audio book.

I totally enjoyed this book, the only thing I didn't like was that it was abridged and having read the book in paperback (many times) the parts that was missing took a little away from the story. But over all I really enjoyed the audio book.

Interesting

The basis of this book is very outdated it portrays a world after the USSR has destroyed the USA, however the story is amazing. After listening to the abridged version I had to got to amazon and order the book and the book is much better than the abridged audio.

Deletion

Way to much of the storyline has been deleted from audio. I otherwise like this series.

good story interesting alternate reality

It's a good story wish it had more time to set up the stage of how the US was betrayed though and how people procured things

Abridged sucks

I read this entire series as a teenager and loved them. To sit in the car on the way to work and relive the books is awesome. The voice actor is good. BUT they cut things out that are major plot points. Don't know why they cut out about 30 mins worth of the story, seems trival.

Best suited for younger fans of military jets.

I first read this title when I was around 12 or 13. I fell in love with the series at that time. I read several of the books from the series though not in order. I was a huge fan of all things Air Force Navy fighter jet type things and I really enjoyed the books. When I saw them in audible I thought wow it's a great opportunity to catch up on stories that I read 20 plus years ago. however even though this story was very well narrated I must say that the content of the story itself seems to be lacking. Not much to it at all very simple though it was okay to listen to while I worked.I must say that it didn't seem to be nearly as good as what I had remembered lol. I will continue to listen to these stories and try to catch up on some good moments of my past however now I'm not looking for it to be as technical as I have remembered. I do recommend this story for young males or females I'd say between the ages of 9 to 13 that have a fascination with military aircraft. the author does go into good detail describing both American and foreign aircraft. I would say that the history probably stops right around mid-80s. so anything that was produced after that time is probably not going to be talked about too much. Overall it's a good story about post WW3 type world.

I would not waste your money.

While the premise is quite interesting, you get the feeling this was written by a political speech writer. I would not recommend this audio-book.
