Fifth in the fun, urban fantasy series that "shines in a crowded genre" (USA Today).
Angel finds herself in redneck hell when hordes of people descend on her hometown for the Deep South Zombie Fest - complete with zombie 5K runs, shamble-a-thons, costume contests, zombie paintball hayrides, and mock-zombie hunts. She intends to avoid the whole mess and focus on her upcoming college midterms - with the help of her stash of illicit zombie drugs - but that all changes when a decapitated body turns up at the edge of town....

THE ZOMBIES ARE AMONG US
WASN'T ALL PUPPIES AND ICE CREAM
You can start here, even if you have not read the earlier books. Rowland brings you up to speed in an effortless style. I like book one best, but a sale is a sale. Rowland builds a society were the ZOMBIES ARE AMONG US. Your neighbor, your boss, maybe your girlfriend could be a zombie. They have their own tribes, scientists, bankers, etc. The are as smart as you and me and have figured out how to live among us.
Angel had been a PILL POPPIN LOSER until she became a zombie. She is flat chested, a redneck and has a SCRAWNY ZOMBIE AS S. She lives in Louisiana and you might find her between RAT TAIL ROAD AND CATFISH DRIVE or she might be lying in SLUG SNOT. Through the series we have gotten to watch her grow as a human (zombie), making her life worth something. She talks like a sailor, but is trying hard to be less trashy. She is a great character with plenty of faults. Sometimes she lets her INNER 3RD GRADER out, but she is trying hard to be more mature and you will fall in love with her.
Allison is the female Ray Porter or Ray is the male Allison McLemore. Either way if you like one, you will like the other. There is lots of humor in this and Allison's timing is perfect.
I'M ALREADY GOING TO HELL AND I'D RAHTER NOT GREASE THE SLIDE.

Angel Crawford ROCKS!
Would you listen to White Trash Zombie Gone Wild again? Why?
Absolutely! It's wonderful to enjoy a zombie story where you root for the zombies in their striving to be better "people". The storyline is always top notch and the character development is clean. Brava!
Which character – as performed by Allison McLemore – was your favorite?
I love Angel's dad. He has just the right amount of southern gent "don't give a rat's butt" attitude.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but then I would be a zombie trying to look after my kids the next day.
Any additional comments?
Diana Rowland, you've done it again!!
