Publisher's summary

The Vatican is broken.... And Callie’s hearing whispers in the dark corners of her mind....

One of the Vatican’s most infamous Shepherds has been murdered, and Callie’s friends are the prime suspects. To prove them innocent, Roland and Callie must risk their very souls....

Because Callie can’t reveal that she’s hearing strange whispers when she uses her magic, or that she’s harboring an Angel’s Grace. And if the Shepherds discover the hellish bargain Roland made, the streets of Rome will flow with blood as brother turns against brother.

And with the Antipope pressuring the Vatican for change, and Nate Temple arriving unannounced to demand an audience with the Shepherds, things couldn’t get any more chaotic.

Until Callie learns of an ancient order of traitors hiding in the Vatican, and they’ll do anything to bring it down - brick by brick.

The only way to find the traitor, keep her secrets, and save those she loves is to raise her blade against these holy warriors of God, shattering the Vatican itself.

And the whispers in her head find all of this so terribly...amusing.

If you like Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, Linsey Hall, McKenzie Hunter, or Ella Summers, you will love the third installment of the Feathers and Fire series.

Jump into the hellish nightmare today!

Awesome!!!

I am actually a Priest, not Catholic, but Christian just the same. I am also a man, I have gone through this series twice now. The thought of the Shepherds and the attachment to the Vatican and a second, secret, conclave is great since the Vatican holds so many secrets so closely. I love a heroine more than a hero. Read them all, it's worth it!

Interesting Story

Wow, didn't see this plot twist. The entire storyline just did a 180. Oh, there's a Little Nate Temple too.

No spoilers

First off this was my favorite to date. Silvers has done it again. I will read all and any book by this author. Each book is chulk full of action, suspense, laughs, mystery. The world keeps getting better with every book. The characters keep growing and coming more to life for me. Poole is the best voices are very well done and you sure won't find a mono tone reading here lol. Highly recommend both book and narration.

Motherf***in milkeyed weasles

I love these books. I have cracked up so many times. By far my new favorite series. I wonder what will happen with Callie and Nate? I haven’t read the temple series yet but I might. I love the Whisky Ginger series. I started with that series, which only has 2 book, fell IN LOVE with the author. I’m glad I skipped book one of this series went straight to book 2. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t have kept listening. Nicole Poole as always is amazing. One of my top 3 narrators!

On to the next!

Addicted to this series

I am hesitant to try new supernatural series because the character development and writing are often poor.
Shayne Silvers turned out to be my new favorite author and I am going into the fourth book in his Feathers series back to back.

The author has a strong, fully developed female lead. She has been apprenticed to a wizard for much of her young life. As the books progress, she matures into an adult and comes into stronger, unexpected powers. She wants to be known as powerful in her own right, defending her values and gaining allies along her journies.
She also has a sharp whit with comments making me laugh.

Her supporting cast also are multidimensional, with side stories and unexpected changes and roles in each book.

Over exaggerating

The story is great but the way the narrator over exaggerates Callie’s voice with emotions that don’t fit in places and she’s awful at some of the other characters.. not a fan of her.. Callie I love.. but the narrator almost makes her seem like an annoying brat at times the way reads her.. just my opinion though

fantastic book

Love the story. A lot of cliches in the book if you know what to look for. Narrator managed to slip past the tween sensation on this one which was a major step up to the book.
