Vamps Wolves and more

After listening to this book, I IMMEDIATELY found the author and bought book 2 in the series. This is Paranormal at it's best. It won't give you the "sex" fix of most paranormal books...In my opinion, they go too far into sex and don't usually have a good story. There is nothing wrong with a sexy paranormal but I draw the line when that is the entire purpose of the book. However, this book is Pure Paranormal with a good storyline.

characters you will enjoy and some you will hate

Dr. David Lephmann wanted to learn how to heal and help those less fortunate who were suffering. His mentor convinces him that Mercy Hospital needs him, desperately to help those who are non-human and magical – meaning vampires, shifters and other magical creatures.

Unfortunately, being out after dark is not always a good thing in this world. Dr. David Lephmann finds himself face to face with two shifters fighting to the death. This is the beginning of the end for David – he can no longer serve in the role of healer as he is now considered dangerously contagious. Thrust adrift into a world of shifters he knows nothing about, David aligns himself with the House of Edmonton (vampires).

Mark Cooper creates a story that brings together vampires and were-animals (shifters) sharing their lives and protecting one another while also facing a common enemy – the AML (Anti Monster League). The book is divided into several parts, allowing the reader to immerse themselves completely into the story. Cooper weaves the magic of his tale tightly around the audience so that they have a hard time telling when the story actually is set – until there is mention of a car or other modern technology. His characters are fully developed which allows Cooper to create this illusion successfully. The narrator does an excellent job with the dialects and accents which also adds to the illusion.

There is much more to this story than the creatures of the night – daily fears that all humans have such as biological warfare, rape, lust, greed and more. There is a good amount of dialogue present which helps create the connections but it is not over done. There is also a bit of romance and comradery mixed with action and murder.

Cooper does an excellent job at creating this world and making it work. His writing style is excellent and he delivers the story fully. There are characters you will enjoy and some you will hate with their first word.

Mikael Naramore does an excellent job of narrating the book. It is obvious he is deeply into the book, projecting the voices in a solid manner. He does a fair job at both male and female voices. His excitement is contagious – he projects the right amount of awe, horror, rage, confusion and other emotions into the reading.

I had no issues with the production quality of this audio book. I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it.

A Complex and Intriguing Read.

What made the experience of listening to Way of the Wolf: Shifter Legacies 1 the most enjoyable?

The Narrator and the way he can draw you into the story.

What about Mikael Naramore’s performance did you like?

He did an amazing job as always. He really brings each character to life and is able to immerse the reader into the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No because it's simply too long!! It's over 18hrs long so I knew it would take a while to listne to.

Any additional comments?

This book is a complex story told from multiple points of view but one I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm not going to say anything about the plot because I will probably spoil something because so much happens, but what I will say is it's a slow building plot but one that is explosive and thrilling. There is so much happening simultaneously that at times it's hard to see what it means to the overall story but believe me when I say that it all comes together in the end!!

As always, Mark E Cooper delivers an amazing book. His world building and character development are phenomenal and he puts so much thought in his books. I can understand some of the reviewers saying that there are too many POVs, but personally I really enjoyed it because it added more to the story. It's a book that you need to stick with in order to understand fully.

I listened to the audio and the narrator delivers again. Michael Narramore does an awesome job voicing each character but I think David is my favourite. He really brings them to life.

Im really looking forward to book 2.

Any additional comments?

Way of the Wolf: Shifter Legacies 1 is the first in a new series of books about 'humans' and 'non humans' and how they co-exist in the near future. The book is broken down into parts and at first it seems as tho the parts aren't going to connect but they eventually do.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. I loved the idea of where this book was going with the integration of 'non humans' into the 'human' world. What I wasn't so fond of was the fact that it took a long time to knit the stories together. It seems like the author was going in one direction and then all of a sudden 'hangs a left' and goes somewhere else.

At 18 hours this book took some time to get through. Mr. Naramore's narration kept me in the story and I had to finish it just to see what would happen. I don't know what scenes you could have cut out to make it any shorter. The author needed all of this time to set his story.

I'm looking forward to listening to the second book in the series. I would like to see what happens with some of the characters that we met in this, the first book.

I would recommend this book to my friends who enjoy the paranormal.

OK but lacking in important areas.

I loves the theory of the shifters and David's story. however there was hardly any of David's story and way too many solid blocked of a certain characters story with no attention to the portrayed main character. I almost think that they made Chris the MC and totally forgot that there description was about David and not a foolish cop. least to say that really irritated me. the only redeeming factor was the few snippets the author decided to give me about David.

Welcome to the Shifter's World

Way of the Wolf started with a prologue of what the background story will be based upon. The story bounced around between five characters. I love the story about Doctor David Lephmann, who is forced from normal life into a shifter. He has to abandon his medical career and to start anew and to live with his alter werewolf ego, Mist.

The story should be about him. The additional books could be added into this series from each of the four characters' stories. Additional characters are welcome in this series.

Since I have given this as an audiobook, I did get lost with the narrator announced Part 2. I did think there was an error in the audio recording of this book. Revealing the each of the other four characters' stories were a bit confusing to size into the first book.

The story is quite good but too much in one story, might not be a very good idea. The lesson learned in this story, is that biases exist. It doesn't matter what the person look like. It also shows that being different can close opportunity. That is what happens to David.

I was given this audiobook by the author via Audio Blast. I was not compensated or influence in any way for writing the review.

Incredibly entertaining!

Which character – as performed by Mikael Naramore – was your favorite?

David would have to be my favorite character! He took control and commanded attention!

Any additional comments?

I was recived the audio book "The Way of The Wolf" from the author Mark E. Cooper for an honest review.

The great story, and the amazing talent of the narrator Mr. Naramore made this story an incredibly enjoyable read. There were many characters and personalities, Mr. Naramore did a wonderful job of bring each one to life, each having their own identifiable and unique voices. (Not easily done) I loved it when there was a scene where a character was behind a closed door, he would muffle the voice and make it feel like you were a part of the story.

The wonderfully talented writing made this story great! I loved the depth he gave each character, it really made me feel connected to them! I liked how he started the book with seemingly completely different stories then slowly intertwined them like you would a French braid. Starting with the different strands and adding to them and combining them until you had a completed and complex story! Hats off to Mr. Cooper!

I had some unanswered questions at the end of the book but I'm sure they will be answered in the next installment "Wolfs Revenge." But overall the book ended great and I found it very enjoying and entertaining! I can't wait to get to the next one and continue the love affair I have with the characters.

Story Jumps all over the place...

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Make it so I felt I was reading the same book from one moment to another... Really, there were times I thought I was on another book....

Worst book ever

Could not follow, so boring I kept falling asleep. Rewinds do so many times just to make sure I could understand who was who.

Slow to start but ends well

I had a hard time getting into the story. I just didn't care about half the characters. However, I am glad I stuck with it because the characters I did like were able to carry the story well enough. One thing I do not understand though ... Why is it every female character Mark creates has a huge chip on their shoulder, are men haters, and pretty much hate everything life has to offer? It gets tiring.
