Publisher's Summary

In the twenty-sixth century, humanity is at war with the Xenophobes, and the planet Loki is the next battleground.
Dev Cameron joined the military to fly a starship but is rated unsuitable and grudgingly accepts an assignment with the ground forces, piloting a massive walking tank (a warstrider). But Cameron may yet get a chance at glory when he makes a discovery about the alien foes that could change the course of the war.

I did manage to listen to the entire book, barely. Hated the narration but the story really bogs down when a fortuitous ally shows up and then gets really boring as the nature of their common enemy is disclosed. Could have been much more with a better reader and less of a yawner of an ending.

Undeniably and Utterly Horrible

What would have made Warstrider: Warstrider, Book 1 better?

It is completely irredemable.

What was most disappointing about Ian Douglas’s story?

This story is shockingly poorly written. Really. Its that bad. Do not waste a credit on this idiotic tripe. The plot, the dialog, the horrible characters make this the most appallingly bad story I've made the sad mistake of buying in a very long time.

What didn’t you like about David Drummond’s performance?

This man is one of the most ghastly, talentless voice actors to ever disgrace the audiobook industry. I will never buy another book narrated by this strikingly untalented person.

What character would you cut from Warstrider: Warstrider, Book 1?

All of them.

Any additional comments?

For the love of everything you hold dear, RUN from this book. Shame on whomever produced this crime against the audiobook universe and my God have mercy on their soul.
