Publisher's Summary

In this fifth book in the Wendy Darlin Tomb Raider series, you are cordially invited to the destination wedding of Wendy Darlin, tomb raider, and Dr. Roger Jolley, world-renowned archaeologist. The wedding is to be held at the Van Helsing Resort and Spa in Loutish, Vulgaria. In lieu of wedding gifts please bring whole garlic heads. The ceremony will begin once the 40 bloodless monks are contained in Carfax Abbey.
Until last year Wendy Darlin was a full-time real-estate agent for Miami Beach millionaires. Then she met Roger Jolley, world-famous archaeologist, Johnny Depp lookalike, and at times the most irritating person on the planet. Join her as she travels the globe in search of lost treasures and antiquities. She's been told her life is like the movie Romancing the Stone, but at times she feels more like Indiana Jones with boobs.

What did you love best about Vulgarian Vamp?

Well I am listening to these out of order...I noticed I have 4 in my library too, so I guess I am just gonna have to break down and buy 1-3 too...I love this story...I love Wendy!

What other book might you compare Vulgarian Vamp to and why?

Ok she is totally Snarky,,,like a character from a Molly Harper book...humorous..and fun!!!

What about Laura Jennings’s performance did you like?

Laura Nailed It! Enough said...she rocked!!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yup....and I almost did!

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

Wendy is trying to get married, but all sorts of hi-jinks prevail and she ends up having to help! This little book is laugh out loud funny, quirky, and very satire-ish....I enjoyed i even though I have not listened to 1-4....and YES I will be buying them all, good thing I already have can ease right into this story with no background info...and you will LOVE Wendy!!!

Wendy Darlin is off again - like nothing else

AudioBook Review:
Stars: Overall 5 Narration 5 Story 5

First off – you don’t have to have read / listened to the earlier titles in this series (although for pure fun – you’ll want to). You don’t want to approach this title like anything out there: it’s a mystery of sorts, a romance in the snarkiest sense of the word, and always over the top in humor. Be warned – if you haven’t a sense of humor – this is not the series for you.

Wendy and her new husband are finally taking their honeymoon trip in Vulgaria. Of course, Wendy needs for Roger to understand that seven months pregnant is NOT a time when she wants to deal with murders, mobsters or weirdness. Perhaps they shouldn’t have checked into the Van Helsing Resort and Spa?

Oh – the hits just keep on coming! Both Wendy and Roger are attempting to clean up their language so as not to barrage or disturb ‘Little Roger”, but when the actual reasons for choosing that particular resort come to light- all bets are off. Toss in a BFF in the form of Kit, vampires, a dead ex-husband, mobsters and a Vatican investigations team and the plot just spins out in ever widening circles to encompass the multiple characters and their competing agendas.

Narration by Laura Jennings is spectacular – I can’t imagine keeping all of the characters and voices straight, let alone not burst into giggles with the sheer absurdity of the many elements of the plot. Silkstone never loses the joy that Wendy brings – with her offbeat attempts at optimism and courage against formidable odds, and Jennings keeps that tone fresh and new. Even in Wendy’s less “charitable’ or ‘friendly’ hormone-infused moments. A truly fun installment in a wonderfully quirky series.

I received an audiobook copy of the title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
