It's been 2 years since the events of the previous book.
The book has a very slow beginning about 1/4 of it is just informational story line about new acting scene, it was so boring that I almost dropped it, but gradually it picked up the pace, and yet it was completely different from the first book.
The story is kinda science fiction conspiracy detective with completely new set of characters, and even those that are familiar to us have a completely different feel to them.
I'm not sure if I will buy the next book.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I have loved Vigilant since I was in High School. Faye has been one of my favourite characters for almost two decades. My issue with this book is the narrator. Whenever I read the book, I hear Faye's voice as a tired, sarcastic, middle-aged woman. The narrator, while great at reading, made Faye sound much too young and far too enthusiastic. The pitch and tone of the narrator doesn't at all match the character.
Would you be willing to try another one of Laurel Lefkow’s performances?
If Laurel Lefkow plays other upbeat and happy characters who are trying to make people happy, sure, I'd listen to her again, but not this book. I listened once, but I think I'll stick to reading from now on.
