Vampire Close is a wonderfully imaginative story with intriguing characters, two romances, a bit of mystery and even some horror. The relationships that grow among the main characters are well defined, and their accents have an authentic sound. The ending leaves you longing for more.

A VERY ENJOYABLE & ENTERTAINING MYSTERY/ROMANCE
Well what an enchanting enjoyable fast-paced surprise this all too short listen was - it had Vampires, magic, Zombies, a handsome Church Deacon, as well as a 'Buffy' type Slayer and, as the story centered in, around and below the cobbled streets of Edinburgh, it touched on some Scottish history too which told of the sad and barbaric Highland Clearances.
The vividly described tale was funny and mysterious but it had intrigue, witty dialogue along with some twists and surprises in store for the listener and it hinted at more than one romance. However, the main one was between Rory a gorgeous, charismatic, sexy, 260 year old Vampire and Fiona the 'Buffy's' sidekick (I daren't say more about her). There was, of course, an evil villain to vanquish so there was action as an Apocalyptical event loomed and a prophecy to unravel. It contained one sex scene but it didn't go 'all the way'.
As this was a self published book I felt, imho, that it could have been improved slightly by the addition of a final chapter or two as well as a few loose ends being tied up (and of course to have been a bit hotter) however, despite this it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the story but it did lose a star because of it.
Worth a credit? Yes definitely and I think Susanne Saville is an author to watch out for.
